This location has been here for as long as I can remember. My family and I loved this location. Though, I only visit once in a while now.
Parking: There's a large parking lot, but they're located in a busy plaza. Finding a spot can be a hit or miss depending on the week.
Ambiance/Environment: They still have a small, tight space. There's table and booth seatings that are placed close together. Great place for parties of 2-4. You can bring a large group, but it'll be a longer wait. It's very busy during dinner. You can join their waitlist via the QR code posted outside their window. They'll text you when your table is ready.
Service: Throughput took about 10-13 min after ordering. The staff is very friendly, but it can definitely improve. There was a decent amount of staff for a Monday night. Our server checked on us once, and it became difficult to wave someone down to refill our waters and pots. My cousin took the liberty to get up, grab the water pitcher, and refill our waters.
Foods: Boiling Point is well known for their Taiwanese style hot pot. I get my usual Beef Hot Pot with mild spice level. It contains a generous amount of sliced beef, napa, vermicelli, corn, seafood mushroom, tomato, firm tofu, tempura, pork meat ball, fish cake, fried tofu skin, imitation crab sticks, green onions, and cilantro with rice on the side. You can also order ramen noodles, but I skipped this time because the pot already came with vermicelli. The soup was seasoned well and definitely boiling hot. I appreciated the amount of vegetables and protein in the pot. The sauces provided are good. We were also given a small, fish egg drink for dessert (I forgot exactly what was in it) when the bill came out. Everything was delicious and satisfied our cravings.
Pricing: I'm not surprised prices went up over the years. We enjoyed our pots. The service can improve though. I would also prefer them to ask whether we have the rewards app. I completely forgot to scan for my points and fully aware this is my fault. But I'd appreciate if they start asking to also push their...
Read moreSince my wife likes the flavors here, we came here alot of times. We faced about 3 incidents with the hosts and the staffs here. They are mean and not polite to the customers One time my wife reserved for 2 and I drove to the Target (opposite) to pick something up for my wife, the hosts keep consist that I must be there for sitting so despite to the fact that does not make any difference if I must be there because they gave us a small table with 2 seat opposite to each other. My wife was so hungry and it was peak dinner time. They also threat my wife that they would "give the seats away if I am not show up in 5 minutes" I understand that it is not right to hold alots of seats if 1 just show up, but in my case, it would not make any difference.
2nd incidents just happened 1 week ago, we order a side of lamb and the curry pot, we realized the meat in the pot and the lamb was the same so we checked with the waiter. It turned out the kitchen put the pork meat in our side of lamb. With cold face, the waiter brought the dish back to the kitchen and later, with the same attitude, no apology, drop the side of lamb, that he stated back to our table.
3th incidents just about few hours ago, it didn't pack in the dining room. We ordered our favorite curry with the cunning lamb we had to remind them about 4 times with 3 difference waiters/waitress to finally got our lamb with the cold face, no apology attitude. I left them $1.50 for tips Management, please train your staffs to appreciate your customers because that where you will get your business from. Plz train them to greet and say...
Read moreI really wanted to give this place at least 4 stars, because their food tastes really good, even after how many years it's been here in the Garden Grove location. We haven't been to this location in a while, but I do want to warn others that this location is almost ALWAYS busy, and I can almost NEVER get ahold of them on the phone. I was only able to place a to-go order on the phone with them today during 3-4 pm, which is in between the lunch and dinner rush hours. We ordered 2 Thai tomato soups and 1 beef, and while they tasted really good, both of the Thai tomato soups didn't come with any shrimp at all, when I CLEARLY saw on their menu online that the Thai Tomato Soup comes with shrimp! I tried calling them back at different hours of the evening to complain and see if they could make it right, but no one answered. I'm really disappointed that they messed up our order like this, especially during the not-so-busy hours. We specifically called at that time to not have this problem. I really didn't want to write a bad review for this location, but I just have to let other people know what can happen if they choose to dine in the Garden Grove Boiling Point. We will most likely not come back to this location in the...
