I was pretty happy and excited to visit this place, since I just ate nearby and it had 5 stars on Yelp. I bought 2 milk teas. House milk tea 50% sweet and the oolong milk tea, normal sweet. I like roasted oolong but I also like regular oolong and it didnt taste like either. The house milk tea tasted oddly similar to the oolong drink, and like the same sweetness level. We couldn't put our finger on it. We sat on it for a bit and felt a sweetener was added that over powered the whole drink? They ended up saying it could be their non dairy creamer. I'm usually fine with non dairy creamers and prefer that..
Luckily, customer service was good and after serving your drink they let you know if you arent satisfied with your drink to let them know. I did but was scared to get another milk tea, thinking they would all just taste the same. My fiance didn't want another drink (same fear) so I just got a Passionfruit green tea half sweet since its syrup and I didn't want to taste more of that than the actual tea. It was good, I kind of tasted tea but not so much Passionfruit ofcourse. It also tasted like a watered down Passionfruit drink at times. So it was MUCH better but still better than leaving completely unsatisfied with our milk teas... Which is definitely NOT 5 stars.
They had us try small samples after that, of 3 other milk teas so maybe my fiance can find a better drink. They oddly all tasted kind of the same still, maybe a slight difference? Jasmine milk tea didnt taste like Jasmine, which was.. odd. The Earl Gray didnt taste like Earl Gray and the Rose was oddly the best one, which is not something we would usually order. My fiance ended up just saying he would take the Rose Milk Tea since he felt bad and didnt wanna say anything was wrong with it. (They make their tea pretty fast here.) All together, he said he would rate that drink a 2/5 and he ended up throwing that away at home. I don't know what I'd rate my Passionfruit drink as I've had Passionfruit at tons of other places and it tastes more like Passionfruit and TEA as well. I'd probably give it a 2 as well? I give his drink and all the milk drinks I tried a 0 though. I guess I should have spoke up and tried the Honey Green Milk Tea. That's the only one I'm curious about now and I hope that ones atleast good.. I actually finished my passion fruit drink so I dont think it was a waste for mine but I think it was a waste paying for a second drink and wish we just didn't come here and trust the reviews AT all.
Just here to leave an honest review for others to help out. If you really like a strong tea flavor, maybe this isnt the place. Its definitely not the place. Theres something missing with every drink and it's really disappointing. :(
Keep up the good customer service though. We had places to be so couldn't wait around and complain about another drink.. I'm sure it would be the same outcome since it's the same creamer anyways. I think that really overpowers the whole drink. I'm sure this place is better for different types of tea drinkers, it's just not our cup of tea..😊
Also had to add, my fiance took his drink home and I tried sipping on the Rose Milk Tea that was 50% sweet again. (The second drink made for us to accommodate for an exchange) It straight up tastes like lipstick. It's sad, I hate wasting my money and wish I could have put it to a better drink from here even if its not the tea... or just not come here at all. This was honestly the worst place I've ever tried that had such perfect reviews on yelp. Which is so strange to me because out of the four drinks we got made for us, and the three samples (One we chose to somehow make this whole thing fair.) They were all absolutely terrible and not like tea at all. Very disappointed and would not recommend this place to anyone. If the drinks are going to taste that bad, they may as well be cheaper than Gong Chas prices.
Literally just had a hot Jasmine green tea from a Vietnamese restaurant tonight to make up for this waste of a tea...

Tira Tea House stood out to me as a smaller tea shop that serves boba, tea, coffee, and sweets. What distinguishes this place from all of the other drink shops is that it creates has a cozy home-like vibe with employees who care about your drink. Immediately when you walk into the store, all of the decorations seem like it is purposely placed and everything matches well.
When I entered, I was greeted by Regina, one of the employees at Tira Tea House. As I browsed the menu, she asked if I had any questions and was attentive to my presence. When I asked her about the difference between her Oolong Milk Tea versus other places, she explained how she brewed the tea and what goes into the milk tea. She then asked if I wanted to try a sample and also asked for the sweetness level -- which I replied 25%. When she came back, she mentioned that the sweetness would be around 25-30% since the drink was in a small container that it was hard to measure the exact 25% necessary. However, the gesture in and of itself was welcome and allowed me to gauge their tea quality.
When I tasted the sample, Regina asked how it was and I stated that I enjoy a stronger oolong taste. In this case, she told me that she could make it stronger by reducing the milk and sugar levels and increasing the amount of unflavored tea as a compensatory mechanism. I decided to go for the stronger Oolong Milk Tea with boba. Overall, I thought that the drink was above average. The oolong flavor was more prevalent with her adjustment, but I still wanted more. The sweetness was good and the creaminess of the drink was as well. The boba is hard to rate since I know different people have certain expectations of how boba should be. The boba was decent, but it was on the harder side compared to other boba places that I have been to. I wouldn't mind ordering the drink again.
Afterwards, I stayed and talked with Regina about her life and her decision to be a barista. She exuded friendliness and a drive to constantly improve her drinks -- which I could tell from the way she adjusted my drink and asked for my thoughts.
Overall, I enjoyed the place and would definitely come back because of their excellent service, good drinks, and the desire to see how their drinks...
Read moreThis cozy, rustic tea house not only provides excellent service but very delicious, well-crafted drinks. The girl who helped my friends and I, Regina, was very enthusiastic about tea and coffee and you can tell that she strives to provide quality drinks. This place definitely stands out in comparison to the mass produced, boba chains that provides low quality drinks as Tira tea house emphasizes the taste of their teas or espresso drinks rather than trying to just mask low quality ingredients with sugar or syrups.
Regina carefully told us the process of how they adjust the sugar levels of their drinks. I liked how they add unsweetened tea to the drink rather than just diluting drinks with milk of half and half they way other places do so. This was perfect for my group of friends as we prefer drinks to taste less sweet and have a stronger tea flavor.
I would definitely love to come here and try lore of their drinks as the 3 drinks (Oolong milk tea, regular milk tea and Caffe Latte). we have tried has been so...
