Wagyu pho? I must be dreaming! I've been wanting to try this spot ever since I heard that they specialize in wagyu pho. The meats are halal and super fresh. Staff was friendly and attentive to our group's needs. Seeing how popular this place was, I thought it would take a while for the food to come out, but I was pleasantly surprised how quick we all received our food. Piping hot and fresh. Definitely stop and splurge on that wagyu pho or the flaming wagyu carpaccio. That meat just melts in your mouth!
|| L O C A T I O N / P A R K I N G || -Cross Streets are Garden Grove Blvd and Hoover St. -Plenty of parking spots for dinner during a weekday
|| F O O D / D R I N K S || Crispy Egg Rolls ($7.00) - Such a tasty fried appetizer. I liked how these didn't taste super oily.
Truffle Fries ($7.00) - These fries were super crispy and had a strong truffle flavor. Loved these and would order it again. I didn't even need to dip it in ketchup or any other sauce.
Flaming Wagyu Carpaccio ($17.00) - Kept seeing this on my feed and decided to splurge and go for it. The wagyu melted in my mouth which made the splurge so worth it. Just let your server know well you want the meat cooked. I opted for medium well and medium rare and both were delicious.
Wagyu Fried Rice ($16.00) - This was so addicting and I couldn't stop eating it. There's a good amount of wagyu in the fried rice and I felt like I had a piece of meat in every scoop of fried rice. Love that it comes with a side of broth which pairs so well with the fried rice.
Shaken Beef With Rice ($19.00) - Although I did find the beef slightly chewy, the flavors made up for it and paired well with the rice. If you're looking for something saucy to go with rice, this is your item to order.
Combination Pho (R: $18.00/L: $22.00) - When trying a new pho spot, I always opt for combination so I get to taste different types of meats to identify which ones I like for my next visit. Since all meat offerings were wagyu with the exception of the meatballs, I knew I was going to be in for a good treat. Every protein was delicious but my two absolute favorites were the slice rare wagyu steak (oh so tender) and the tender rib cubes (not chewy at all!). Broth was super flavorful and so clear. I couldn't stop slurping away at the broth.
Watermelon Juice - super refreshing for the hot summer day, recommend to quench your thirst after you devour a...
Read moreFinally got to try out Pho Redbo and left pretty happy!
Pho Redbo is located in a small shopping center that is at the very end on the corner of the center. Parking was pretty plentiful on a weekday evening!
Coming in, there were a lot of tables located all around, and service was super chill and speedy!
Our party got a number of a different items so got to try a wide variety!
*Golden Truffle Fries: Pretty much as it sounds! Crispy thin fries with truffle salt sprinkled on top and ketchup. A pretty good amount to share at the table.
*Oxtail Pho: This apparently was a newer item on the menu. Super delicious. The oxtail pieces were pretty big, and the meat pretty easily comes off the bone. The pho itself was super solid. Tasty broth and noodles. The condiments here are also put into a variety of separate containers which I thought was a neat touch including the usual oyster sauce and sriracha. We also got an order of the really wagyu and meatball pho which was also delicious -
*Flaming Wagyu Carpaccio: Probably the flashiest dish. A server brings out the wagyu carpaccio and a kitchen blowtorch to torch the wagyu in front of you along with grilled onions. The meat is really good and tender. Loved the presentation.
*Beef Stew: This was something I wasn't expecting but pretty good! This was a heartier stew dish with beef and more of a tomato base. They also brought out a baguette which you can tear apart and dip into the baguette. A really pleasant surprise all-around.
*Egg rolls: We also got an order of four egg rolls which came out with a nice sauce and was a nice addition!
*Wagyu Fried Rice: A solid and good amount of fried rice with the wagyu rice mixed in. Thought it was a nice complement to especially eating the carpaccio.
*Teas: Finally we tried out a few different tea selections like the thai iced tea and the lychee tea. The lychee tea wasn't too bad for me. I'm usually not too into sweet drinks but thought this was well-balanced.
Good stuff all-around - hope to...
Read moreAs my family I were driving to Irvine from the Bay Area for my college move in, we wanted food and I found pho redbo, a halal pho spot on tiktok. I haven’t had pho since I was young, mostly because pho restaurants where I live are almost never halal. I asked somebody I knew from Orange County in a group chat if they’d ever been to pho redbo and she said she did and it was super good. For a Vietnamese local to Orange County to say it’s super good was an automatic green flag, especially since she wasn’t Muslim so that meant their only selling point wasn’t being halal. When we drove over here the restaurant was packed even though it was night, another green flag. None of my parents or I knew which pho to order, brisket or rare steak, and that’s when our super friendly, patient, and helpful server Brian told us that we could get half and half of both meats. Me and my parents all ordered the same things. As we ate our delicious pho, Brian was very attentive and made sure he refilled our water the moment we finished our cups. Also when we requested more of the complimentary lemons and leaves(like basil), Brian was quick to bring them to us. The food itself overall was very delicious, had good portion sizes, was high quality, light, and healthy so me and my parents were all very satisfied with our bowls of pho. At the end of our meal, Brian also brought us a bottle of their Thai tea, something none of us had ever had. After having our first sips of the Thai tea we were blown away with how we went our entire lives with something this good existing and not knowing about it. It was sweet(but not too sweet) while still having a lot of the rich tea leaf flavors I like, something I don’t see in a lot of other creamy cold teas like boba. Honestly I think I like Thai tea more than any boba I’ve ever had in my life. Overall if you are in Orange County and need a satisfying meal definetly go...
