After visiting Da Vien for Vietnamese style teas and coffee our appetite was stirring for some Thai food.
We wanted to go to another Thai Restaurant down Garden Grove Blvd, however the spot was too small and too packed. We took a little drive further down and found Thai Avenue.
The restaurant looked pretty inviting even during lunch hour on a Sunday.
Ordered their fish cake appetizer for starters and they were absolutely delicious even though Mom didn't think they would be good for the first try. Next 2 orders of Pad Thai, Pah Kee Mao, and I got the Khao Kai which was amazing to my taste buds and palate. My first try of this amazing flat rice noodle dish and I will get this again for sure. Pah Kee Mao (aka drunken noodles) was also a hit here and if you enjoy this Thai dish, you won't go wrong here.
The Pad Thai was a bit too sweet to be honest, I understand different cooks, different locations. I have had so many different styles of Pad Thai and a hint or a dab more of some tamarind and less sugar would have made it. Mom and daughter both didn't like it either.
So all in all with the exception of their Pad Thai being too sweet, the Thai Cuisine was a 4 out of 5 stars.
Restaurant is clean, organized, friendly & accommodating service. They did a great job here, thank you...
Read moreI’ve had this place twice because it is close and convenient to my work. The first time I ordered through DoorDash and loved both items that I got. I got the chicken pet Thai and the tom yum soup. I felt like the portions were reasonable, and I was pleased with what I got.
But I recently talked to a friend who went there in person, and even though we typically have similar tastes for some reason that she really wasn’t impressed with this place. Despite this, I decided to order from them again this time in person for takeout during a weekday lunch. I got the pad Thai again but this time with pork protein. I wouldn’t say it was life-changing and it was a little bit noodle heavy rather than different items in the noodle stirfry. But overall, I like that it came out steaming hot and I thought it was satisfactory for lunch.
As far as ambience when I went to pick up, I noticed the interior is medium sized. The leather seats looked pretty comfortable and clean. The workers were also really nice and immediately came to help me.
Overall, don’t worry I haven’t given up on this place yet and definitely think it’s one in the rotation due to...
