This review is really for 3.5 stars but since Google doesn't take half star reviews, I will round up to 4 stars. I genuinely hope that whoever manages this restaurant will take into account the valuable feedback that other reviewers have provided. There's definitely some potential for this spot to blow up and I'd love to see it as they're located in my hometown. They have quite a few affordable food items which is nice when you just want something simple to fill up your belly and they're open late. The drinks are solid because I think Tebo Tebo may still be operating within the restaurant? I'm not sure but their drink menu is reminiscent of the Tebo Tebo menu. They have a lot of food options on their menu so maybe I did not order the best that they have to offer. Service could be better but I know the two guys at the counter were doing their best to get the dishes out in a prompt manner, they might be short staffed? There were some leaks so it wasn't really a good look or addition to the dining experience but I'm hoping it's been fixed by now.
|| L O C A T I O N / P A R K I N G || -Cross Streets are Brookhurst St. and Westminster Ave. -Located in the same plaza as Bao's Hog, Boiling Point, Sunmerry, Sunright Tea Studio, and Banh Mi Che Cali -Plenty of parking spots but can get full during prime times. As the spot is located near the vietnamese grocery store, it does get packed. I came on a weekday evening and it was relatively easy to find parking.
|| F O O D / D R I N K S || Grilled Pork & Shrimp Vermicelli - Was debating whether to order the broken rice because of the $4.99 deal or order my usual vermicelli with shrimp and grilled pork. I'm glad I made the call to proceed with my usual vermicelli order because this dish was flavorful. The pork and shrimp were grilled with lots of flavor.
Bun Bo - I've only had Bun Bo once prior to trying it out here and that honestly raised the bar for me. Khoi's version of bun bo seemed to be a cheaper version of what you would normally get when you order Bun Bo. It was missing the pork knuckle and pork blood. Granted that the Khoi's pricing for this is cheaper than other spots, I really wish it was specified in the menu.
Pom Pom Peach with Boba - I liked that you could actually taste chunks of fresh fruit in the drink. Good to know that they don't rely heavily on syrups to get that fruity flavor.
Matcha Milk Tea with Boba - quality of matcha was average but I did appreciate that the boba was cooked perfectly. It was...
Read moreThis is the worse customer service restaurant in orange county...first time here 8/7/25 for dinner with family from a 4 star review on google so we wanted to try out their dishes.
Only one young male person came out of the kitchen to seat us, poor English and he couldn't take our order correctly, had to repeat order two to three times yet wrong food(s) came out 20 mins later. The food ordered does not even look like the pictures from the menu, plus he was even semi rude that he got corrected.
Food was actually tasty even though wrongfully ordered. When finished, it was hard to get refills on water since he was in kitchen all the time during our meal. I asked for the check but it was wrong, he overcharged us so when we pointed it out, if was a $53 difference. He went back to the kitchen. Came out 15 mins later and now the bill looks decent. I paid cash and even tipped him for the meal(s).
It was an exhausting experience with him, we even spoke vietnamese as well. Our table was the only ones in the empty restaurant, there was no one there but us, just poor communication with the server. His mistakes with our order and the bill was enough to NEVER go there again...
Oh, BTW, when we asked for extra dishes, the plated were dirty with food and stains, all of them. One more thing, hard to get water...
Read moreThe food was good. However, the service was horrible and not in a tolerable way. I don’t mind bad service as long as I have everything I need but this was horrible. And for some context, I never leave reviews, in fact, this is my first in 3 years.
To start, this restaurant does NOT provide water to customers. I don’t care if they technically don’t have to, that is absolutely horrible business practice and is the sole reason as to why I will never be coming back here. But to add more to that, 3 people said yes and that they would bring water to my table. It was only after I asked a fourth person that they said they don’t provide free water.
On top of this, it took them about an hour to bring out one order of chicken wings after we’d already finished our main meals. And it’s not like the restaurant was packed or anything, it was half empty.
Again, I never write reviews because I don’t like what it can mean for restaurants. BUT if your establishment refuses to serve something as simple as complimentary water, you deserve to get...
