Yummy Bakery — Restaurant in Garden Grove

I called to place an order of 3lbs heo quay 90 minutes before I came to the shop. When I came to the shop and paid, I was told to wait another 15 minutes. However, that turned into an hour wait at the shop. 20 minutes into waiting I received an update from a middle age lady named "Dung" saying my order would be ready very soon as they were chopping up my meat. However, that did not happen so I asked for an update at the 30 minutes mark from a male cashier and got no response. So, I continued to wait another 15 minutes before asking the 2nd time in which no one helped me directly. The Dung lady gave me a lot of attitude when I asked for an update the 2nd time. Instead of helping me, she looked at me weirdly and bossed the busy cashiers to do other things. She then proceeded to yell to the back "make order of the 3 lbs heo quay now for this bad customer" in Vietnamese right in front of my face. I only asked for an update the second time because I was ignored and dismissed the whole time I was waiting at the shop. I’ve been eyeing this place ever since the construction and now they finally have a soft opening.

The staff are nice but the overall still unorganized, but that’s ok since it just opened and they are still sorting out a few things.

I ordered 2 banh baos with eggs and 1 grilled beef banh mi.

Grilled Beef Banh Mi - Terrible. The strangest Banh Mi I’ve had (not in a good way). The beef were not grilled, they were just sautéed and so saucy wet. There were hardly any pickled carrot and daikon, instead just a bunch of cilantro and scallions. They put iceberg lettuce and tomatoes in the sandwich, what the heezy?

Banh Bao - taste pretty good but texture is so moist that they’re sticky and watery at the bottom

I was so excited for this place to open since it’s so close to my house but boy I was so disappointed and won’t return to try their other items. Honestly there are way better banh mi places within a minute drive that...

Good bánh mì sandwiches! :)

They have a nice range of bánh mì and chè flavors. They also offer a variety of baked goods, coffee, and teas. Everything looked so good and fresh. There’s also a fridge on the right side where they offer cold drinks and desserts.

Yummy Sandwich: 9/10 - good range of meat and pickled veggies but baguette could’ve been crispier Pandan Grass Jelly: 6/10 - pandan jelly wasn’t chewy at all

The workers were very nice and welcoming. The interior is pretty spacious and offer seating indoors as well as outdoors. There’s direct parking in front of the shop, but there’s plenty of parking to the side since it’s located in a plaza.

My sister is a super picky eater and even she thought the bánh mì was pretty good! We’ll definitely be back next time to try all their...
