I recently visited California Fish Grill with my colleague for a quick lunch during our work day, and overall, it turned out to be a positive experience. The restaurant offers a unique self-service system that minimizes human interaction, which can be both efficient and convenient for those on a tight schedule.
Upon entering the establishment, we noticed that there was no one to take our order or greet us. Instead, there was a screen at the entrance where we could input our order and make the payment. While this lack of traditional service might initially seem impersonal, it actually streamlined the process and allowed us to proceed at our own pace.
After placing our orders and making the payment, we received a text notification indicating when our food would be ready. Unfortunately, my colleague did not receive a text despite the food being ready. It's possible that there was a glitch in the system, which led to a minor inconvenience. However, the staff was quick to address the issue and promptly served us the food.
Speaking of the food, I opted for the Keto Shrimp Bowl, which consisted of grilled shrimp served on a bed of fresh spring mix. The shrimp was tender and perfectly cooked, showcasing the restaurant's skill in preparing seafood dishes. The accompanying spring mix was crisp and bursting with freshness, complementing the shrimp wonderfully. As someone who follows a keto diet, I appreciated the healthy and flavorful option provided by California Fish Grill.
While the minimal human interaction might not appeal to everyone, I found it to be an efficient way to enjoy a quick lunch without sacrificing quality. The glitch in the notification system was a minor hiccup, but the staff's prompt response made up for the inconvenience. The highlight of the experience was undoubtedly the delicious food, with the Keto Shrimp Bowl standing out as a flavorful and satisfying choice.
Overall, California Fish Grill offers a convenient dining experience with a unique self-service system. The food quality is impressive, and the flavors are well-executed. If you're looking for a quick and tasty seafood meal in a no-frills setting, I recommend giving California Fish...

Forgot to take pictures but the food was great. Ordered online on Thursday January 13, 2022. First time trying this restaurant even though I always see it on my way back home from Sams Club nearby. Ordered 3 Cajun Shrimp tacos a la carte and a Battered Fish taco combo, which comes with 2 tacos, 2 sides and a water bottle. $1.99 extra for certain sides and 0.50 cents extra to upgrade to a bottle Pepsi.
I ordered sweet potato fries (+$1.99) and rice. The main protagonist are obviously the tacos. The fries were pretty good, light crunch, and the rice is pretty much normal american rice. The fish felt fresh, battered nicely, light crunch, well-seasoned on a yellow corn tortilla, topped with cabbage, tomato, cilantro, and pickled red onions. It had like a housemade cream sauce, probably sour cream based although I could be wrong.
My favorite were the Cajun Shrimp tacos. The Shrimp were fresh, nicely seasoned and cooked with Cajun spices, topped cabbage, diced tomato, corn, cilantro, and pickled red onions on a yellow corn tortilla. It was more flavorful than the fish tacos, probably because of the 'dynamite sauce', which also gave the taco a pleasant kick to it.
If you dont like corn tortillas, you have the option to substitute for flour tortilla, but honestly corn is the way to go. I honestly recommend you give this place a try. Forget about the sides and just order the tacos a la carte ($3.75-$3.99 per taco). You won't regret it. I'll definitely be coming back and probably try...

Food: First timers, try: White fish plate with garlic butter (comes with coleslaw and bread) Spicy corn chowder (large size you can share between two people)
The dishes I've listed above are my faves. I eat probably too much of that... probably need to cut back on my fish consumption for a while. But the garlic butter is so good, I can't not get it... I know I should try something different but I know I love the white fish plate, so I stand behind it. I have tried the salmon and tilapia plates along with the grilled zucchini side and fish tacos too and they also taste yummy. But the white fish is my go-to.
Service: This place is usually always crackin', especially at lunch time. Do yourself a huge favor and call in and place an order. Takes about 10-15 minutes then go to the second line that says "Pick Up Orders," avoid the huge line that stretches to the door. If you do walk-in and order, it can take up to 10 minutes to get your food if it's mega-packed. Just be forewarned...
Location: The lot it's located in is jam-packed with other businesses so the parking can get hectic. I usually park as close to the entrance as possible so I can get out of there easier.
Verdict: Great food, reasonable prices (about $8-$12 per plate) and good portion sizes. Very tasty menu and good selection. I'll be a regular for many...
