Honestly- The place is over priced, and has terrible service. I found it a little bit racist as I saw the waiters pick and choose who they were attentive to. Myself and wife, both African American, and a Hispanic family across from us, received TERRIBLE service. Took forever to get our orders taken, after waiting 45 mins for a table, and they did not check on us once. However, they were extremely attentive to the Asian customers next to us, checked on them several times, all while passing by our table, without any acknowledgment.
FOOD- Just okay. Broth and noodles are super cheap to begin with so to charge $40 a person for all you can eat, when you can literally only eat one pot, is outrageous. It also lacks flavor… you have to add a lot of chili pastes and sauces for flavor. Also ordered curry rice & they never brought it out, said it was cooking, never returned. The meats were decent, overall just not good enough to return.
Atmosphere is cool. No complaints there. I am surprised by how long the wait time was and how busy this place gets for very mediocre food and service with high prices.
I was fooled by all the people waiting outside, but the place is just small so of course on a Saturday night there’s a wait. I...
Read moreIntimate, cozy and yet full of friendly staff. I have to admit I was a little intimidated when I first walked in because most of the customers seem to be regulars. My feelings were put at easy by the friendly staff and owner. They took the time to explain their process and teach me how to use the equipment.
The meat options are not large but the quality is superb. The meat cuts are excellent and so are their vegetable trays. Their shrimp is cleaned, peeled and without the heads. So, you are actually getting to enjoy your flavors. I have gone to the buffet style shabu shabu restaurants but I have to say this place was better than those. The quality of the food and broths is impressive. The buffet style versions are full of fillers but they give the illusion that you are getting more for your money (lots of fillers).
I paid around $30 for myself and that included their basic meats, vegetables and soda. If you ask me, the best $30 in a shabu shabu style restaurant. I will definitely visit again. The restaurant is located in a small shopping center sandwiched between In N Out and...
Read moreWe normally eat here because it's become a comfort food, the main male host is always great no compalints on his end. However, on this particular day the comfort was removed during our visit. It was busy but not outrageously busy, we finished our FIRST round and requested another. We saw as the servers walked by us fulfilling others request while our table remained empty, just broth boiling. No one bothered asking if we were waiting on something or that our food would be out shortly, a quick follow up would be nice to not feel forgotten. Eventually, too much time had passed by then so we waited on a server to be close and requested we get our check since it had been a minute since we placed our order, mind you in a none rude manner. The server made a sudden facial gesture at the word "minute"(as if feeling offended) and not once offered an apology after that or a complimentary dessert to remedy the situation. I don't think we have seen this server before. Server on the receipt say Manager T, but I surely hope that was not a manager, given the way they handled...
