It has been well over a decade since the last time I had the chance to eat at Arthur treacher's. The shame of that is that this location in Garfield heights was not a long drive from my home. I just never find myself quite on this side of town unless I am visiting Cinemark at valley view. A friend suggested meeting for dinner before a movie at Cinemark this past Thursday evening. Arthur treacher's had been a childhood staple for him and his family and he suggested we meet there. Upon arriving into the parking lot and seeing that familiar yellow background with the union jacks flanking the logo, took me right back. Inside. The interior and overall setup was, utilitarian. It has a handful of tables if you choose to dine in but the general setup seems to be geared for take out orders. That extended to how the food is packaged up, everything is placed into take out foam containers for your order. There were around 4 people waiting for their order when we arrived. After placing our order at the counter (the person who took my order was super friendly and helpful) we were given our order number and we took a seat. Overall it took around 8-10 minutes for our orders to come up. The kitchen was absolutely cooking everything to order so everything was extremely fresh and hot. I ordered the fish and chicken combo meal. That came with chips, 2 pieces of fish and 2 pieces of chicken, and 2 hush puppies. I also ordered a lemon luv and coleslaw as sides. After letting things cool a little while, dove in. That first bite took me right back to my childhood. We didn't visit Treacher's often, as it was usually reserved for when we would visit sears at southland for school shopping, but I always enjoyed my experience back then. Everything was how I remembered it. This will be a restaurant I will return to when in the area for sure moving forward. Can't believe I waited so long to return.

We just moved into North East Ohio and my husband is British, he really wanted some decent fish and chips out that wasn't over $20 at a Cleveland Irish pub that we ate at before a many years ago. He found Arthur Treacher's on Google "Fish Fry" search. When I mentioned it to my uncle that we were going to try Arthur Treacher's because they are the most well rated and reasonably priced, he said it was fast food! After researching his claim on YouTube, I was shocked to find out it was once a huge chain of fish and chip restaurants in the 1970s and 80s. Arthur Treacher was a real person too and a British actor. The food was actually pretty good! The fish wasn't greasy. The breading was light but crisp. The fries were actually chips and the hush puppies were tasty. A three fish basket was about $11. The service was friendly. Inside the restaurant was clean. Yes, it looks like one of those hole in the wall places, Styrofoam clam shell trays and cups but don't let that image fool you! I truly got your local UK small town Chippy vibe while eating there. All they need is mushy peas and curry sauce and you have a proper British Fish and Chips shop!

I decided to stop by Arthur's Treacher's Fish & Chips on Rockside Road because I have fond memories of eating some of the delicious seafood dishes from their menu when I was growing up. Recently, I had heard that they had reopened and I couldn't wait to try their food once again. Upon my visit, I was thrilled to find that Arthur's Treacher's still serves up the same mouthwatering, crispy, golden-battered fish and chips including their hush puppies that I remember so well! The warm and inviting atmosphere of the restaurant, combined with the attentive and professional staff, made my visit experience all the more enjoyable. It was clear to me that Arthur's Treacher's takes pride in their food and their customers, and that they go the extra mile to ensure a high-quality experience. Overall, I highly recommend visiting Arthur's Treacher's Fish & Chips on Rockside Road for a nostalgic trip down memory lane or to simply indulge in some truly excellent seafood dishes. Whether you're a longtime fan or a newcomer, you're sure to be impressed by the quality and flavor of their offerings.

I was happy to see the place was fairly busy around 7:30 pm. We dined in. I went to the Cuyahoga falls location as a child, and the hush puppies here in Garfield Heights were as crispy and delicious as I remember. I ordered the fish and chicken combo but received a plate that had 4 pieces of chicken and no fish. Dunno if they made the wrong thing or if my husband accidentally made off with the wrong order 😆. I thought the chicken tasted better than the fish but that's a matter of personal preference moreso than a quality issue. Chips were hot and fresh. Dining room was clean and sauces and utensils well-stocked, but they need to wash the vinegar bottles more often because the one on our table was sticky and that's gross. I gave three stars because of the sticky vinegar and the possible mistaken order. Also, a couple of the employees were talking loudly about break time, quitting time, I can't wait to be out of here, etc which is understandable for a fast food job (I have worked fast food and retail, and I get it) but it's not great as a customer to hear employees complaining on the job because then you wonder if they put proper care into the food preparation.

We'll probably be back at some point when the craving for real fish and chips strikes. This place is a blast from the past, to be sure! Get your fix just in case they aren't around anymore. There's only 8 locations in 2 states out of a few hundred at their peak. Order...

I've passed here plenty of times, it had a sign that read "Gyros" all this time I thought it was just another "Gyro spot" & that Arthur Treacher was closed. Was driving by I saw the sign was gone & people going in & out shoop I decided to turn around & check it out, to my surprise it was open.

My wife & I both had the 3 piece fish meal, since we were there with our 1yo grandson I opted to have 1 fish replaced with a chicken tender. To my surprise after talking to the owner he was the owner of the one on Clark Ave., I explained how my Grandma would take my younger brother & myself there every Friday, coming here really brought back so much great memories of my Grandma, now this tradition I will have with my grandson.

Now, the fish is the exact way I remembered light & crispy, the fries also the same O.M.G the hush puppies tasted the same, the gentleman who I assume was the manager came out asked how was our meal & refilled our pop even gave my grandson a lemonade & a cardboard boat which he really loved. Very clean place, tables were cleaned as soon as the customer left, men's restroom was clean, the service we recieved was top notch.

The owner is a really down to earth person we wish him all the best, I am definitely coming back more often & I'm surely going to tell my friends. Come back to Clark...
