Hard to find a coffee in TC on a Sunday, especially a Sunday afternoon. Fortunately, this place was open until 3. The coffee seemed well roasted and it’s cool they roast their own. They have a lots of options, mainly from the Americas. They also make their own syrups, which is a huge plus. Unfortunately, their lattes are way out of ratio and taste like hot milk and if you get one with a syrup, it is way too sweet and just taste like syrup. I asked how many grams of espresso are in the double shot since standard is like 15 to 18. She said 36, which threw me for a loop that would be impossible to get 36g into a porterfilter basket. It turns out it’s 18 g, which is perfect. Unfortunately, they only let it run till 36 g out, which means you’re only getting barely over 1 ounce of espresso your 12 ounce drink. That ratio is just way off. My guess is that they put more syrup in it than espresso, leading to it tasting like pure syrup and no coffee flavor whatsoever. Very friendly barista, however. I like the cool products they had from Palestine, very unique and I’ve never seen that anywhere else. They also have the only tea grown in Michigan, which is really cool. I think if they just got the ratios right on their coffee drinks, it would be much...
Read moreLet me just say, I love all there drinks and they have amazing coffee. However, as of late they will lock there door with ZERO explanation and it won’t be on there online hours OR on there door. This has happened to me twice, and the second time I got someone’s attention (who was inside) and they just told me they were short on staff which I can understand BUT then an employee who has been known for being rude ran up behind her to shut the door in my face trying to make sure I didn’t get an explanation. They are literally letting people stand at there door trying to get in while they are inside ignoring everyone that comes up. At least have a explanation and don’t ignore...
Read moreIf I could give them more than 5 stars I would. What an awesome place! Their focus on sustainability is like nothing I’ve seen before. Their to-go cups are donated ceramic mugs, their products are organic and non-gmo sourced with an emphasis on reducing environmental impact. I ordered a decaf extra sweet mocha. It was the best mocha I’ve had. The mocha is made in-house and the quality and taste of the mocha honestly surpasses anything I’ve had before. I’m so sad that I can only have their products if I visit Traverse City (I’m moving to Cali). For any foodie and environmental advocate...this...
