So disappointed. Que deception! I heard they rebranded this restaurant that was previously called Fortaleza and was really good back then. Back then their rice was the best outcome of all their previous restaurants.I was happy to see familiar faces and a revamp interior. (I low key missed the festive previous colors). Looking at the menu and immediately noticed an extreme hike on prices, especially the drinks. The drinks are served in interesting containers but none of this matters because they were expensive. The food was too pricey for me and I ordered Tacos. They were the worst tacos in my history. The chicken was bland and chewy and the tacos disc's were store brought. I send my dish back immediately. My daughter ordered the same thing and only ate half of one. A complete waste of money. The concept is a karaoke bar restaurant, but they started handing around the cheapest of mics. Like kiddie mics to the crowd. It was insulting yet people there seemed to be so drunk on their really pricey drinks that it did not matter. I USED TO ALWAYS GO THERE BECAUSE SINGING THERE WAS FUN but I was so disappointed and won't ever go back again. They lost a faithful customer. The manager is the same and she is sweet, and so is the waiter. BUT I am not sure what they were thinking. Very mixed feelings about this experience even the slice of cake was extra sweet and could not be eaten. If you like a drunk atmosphere this...
Read moreIn my 10 years as a vegetarian, this was the first restaurant where I felt completely disregarded. While the waiter was polite, I was disappointed by his reluctance to even check if any dishes could be modified to accommodate dietary restrictions. When I asked if any dishes could be made without meat or fish, he replied, "this isn’t La Fortaleza anymore, we just haven’t changed the sign outside” and suggested salad as my only option. I ended up ordering the chilaquiles, as the meat was served on the side. However, when the bill came, the chilaquiles were charged as one dish and the meat as a separate charge. So it seemed like omitting the meat would have been an easy fix.
Our party of 9 wasn’t impressed with the food, it was honestly underwhelming.
Also, three people weren’t drinking alcohol and asked if any of the cocktails could be made into mocktails, but the answer was no. Let’s be real, virgin mojitos or margaritas are simple to make, but everything was a flat "no." The only non-alcoholic drink option the waiter offered was piña colada.
I can appreciate the concept of the restaurant, it's unique and thoughtfully designed. However, as a customer, it was frustrating not to be accommodated. In today's world, many people choose not to eat meat or fish, and some can't or don't drink alcohol. It's disappointing when a restaurant doesn't prioritize providing an enjoyable experience for all...
Read moreI don’t usually write reviews, but this experience was so bizarre I feel like people need to be warned. My girlfriend and I came here for what was supposed to be a nice karaoke dinner, but instead, we got a front-row seat to a complete trainwreck.
The food was amazing and the drinks were fantastic. The place is excellent to take Instagramable pictures, and their concept is unique. The singer has a great personality and amazing voice. But the real issue was the manager. I don’t know how else to put this: She was clearly drunk. She was slurring her words on the microphone and gave the restaurant a bad look.
There’s definitely room for...
