Grew up in the immediate area and moved away eleven years ago. Recently I came back to visit the old stomping grounds. The park is still there and still great as ever. However, what greenery was cut out of the center by the gazebo makes the spot look barren. The loads of trash in the mulch and surrounding roads is appalling and all the broken barriers makes the whole place look unmanaged. Shame that a park so well placed looks so unkempt. If it were up to me, I would plant trees at lower points of the park and cut away the ones that block the other side where the sun sets. This park has so much potential to beautify the area. Read moreThis park is on a hill off Plusade Ave in Garfield, NJ. It has a beautiful view for sunsets. It is also fun for sled riding. There is a big playground for kids here as well one sections for big kids and another section for small kids I went recently with my children and was surprised to see u homeless man sleeping on a bench in the playground and graffiti all over the slides like not your normal tiny graffiti it was a lot and there was litter everywhere like bottle caps and broken glass.
