A unique Vietnamese restaurant showcasing authentic food from the city of Hue, Vietnam. Pricing wasn't terrible and portion size was appropriate for the cost. Food was generally okay but I wouldn't say out of the park or the best out there. The Bun Bo Hue, which the place is popular for, tastes quite bland, not flavorful or rich enough. It didn't have the classic taste and/or of Bun Bo Hue (BBH). There are definitely other Vietnamese restaurants with better BBH. The Pork rice dish, Com Goc Hue, it gave a lot which I was super happy about. The meat was soft and tender but had almost a feathery (?) Texture? It's hard to explain but it's not your typical Vietnamese grilled pork that you get from other restaurants. The flavor was good but the texture was just different, not bad! Just different. The banh xeo/khoai (pancake) was thick and crispy. It was filled with beans sprouts and meat and I like that they give 2 small-medium sized pancakes. It's great to share with a group. The sauce it comes with seems to be some type of peanut sauce, so beware for anyone with allergies. The Banh Goc Hue Combo, which is basically a combination of all there little small eats which is a nice way to get a sample of each appetizer item is good. I would say my favorite was the Banh Loc which is a clear, sticky sort of dumpling-like item that's wrapped in banana leaves. It was filled with meat and was delicious. The other banana leaf wrapped item was Banh Nam, I wasn't too impressed with this one, but it was still ok. The Banh Beo (which is the 4 little white circular dishes) wasn't anything special but they do a nice twist by putting a crispy pork skin on top. The Banh It Ram was a nice textural experience since it had a hidden crispy pork skin underneath, it was filled with meat too. Lastly, there was the Banh Uot Tom Chay, which is similar to Banh Cuon, basically a steamed rice paper wrap, this one I felt like wasn't anything special.

Glad to see a Hue restaurant in this area. The owners seem super nice when I asked them about opening date. Can't wait to try it. Update: Wow the food was delicious. Staff and service was top notch. When was the last time you had your table checked on 4 times in a VN restaurant lol. Some of the reviews I've seen was so sad. There was definitely no reason to give such low stars especially in this economy when all restaurants are struggling. My wife and family is from Hue, they definitely gave me some feedback on the food. Our food was all delicious and the portions were huge, my mother in law took her food home and shared my wife's bowl because it was such a huge portion. Unless you've eaten in Hue VN please don't say it's not authentic lol. The food here is one of the best Hue foods I've eaten here in America. Sure there's little things here and there that could be improved but overall the taste is up to you, when there's things you can add in your bowl to change the taste to make it your own. The broth is really on point while all the appetizers and rice was really delicious. Will be our go to Hue spot whenever I'm in Garland.

Disappointed Experience at Goc Hue I had high hopes for Goc Hue, but unfortunately, our visit was marked by several frustrating issues. First and foremost, the female restroom was broken and locked—with no sign or notice to inform customers. Several women in my family had to walk back and forth multiple times, passing by staff and the owner each time, only to find the door still locked. Despite clearly seeing this happen, no one offered help or explanation until we finally asked directly. Only then were we told the restroom was broken. That kind of neglect is unacceptable and shows a lack of basic courtesy. The food didn’t redeem the experience. We ordered two large bowls of bún bò Huế, and both were extremely salty with barely any vegetables. Everyone at our table commented on how overpowering the salt was. It felt rushed and unbalanced—not what you’d expect from a place that specializes in central Vietnamese cuisine. Table service was decent, and the staff were polite, but the overall experience—from the restroom issue to the food quality—left us disappointed. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and makes improvements. Customers...
