Nam Hua is a fantastic spot for authentic Vietnamese cuisine in Garland. We had a great experience dining here, starting with the spring rolls, which were fresh, light, and packed with flavor—the perfect way to kick off the meal.

For mains, we ordered the salted fish fried rice and the Cơm Đặc Biệt, and both dishes delivered. The salted fish rice had that deep umami flavor and was well-balanced with perfectly cooked rice and a subtle savory kick. But the standout of the meal was definitely the Cơm Đặc Biệt. This dish was a flavorful combination of a juicy pork chop, a crispy fried egg, a savory egg patty, and chargrilled pork—all served with rice. Each component added its own texture and taste, coming together as a delicious, satisfying plate that hit every note.

The service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy and casual, making it an easy spot to relax and enjoy a comforting meal. Traditional Vietnamese menu that has pictures to help understand the variety they offer. My family tried a few different things and we all were very pleased. We started with Chicken Spring Rolls and everyone loved them! Then I had Vermicelli-Beef Slices with Shrimp & Lemon Grass and it was great tasting and filling. My wife had a Rice Platter-Spicy Chicken Lemon Grass and was thrilled and the bite I had of her chicken was beautifully spiced, not too hot but no where close to bland. My son; who had never tried Vietnamese food and was skeptical, had the Vermicelli-Hue Style Spicy Beef Soup and what he couldn't finish he was happy to take home. My daughter; who also had never tried Vietnamese food but was eager to, had Rice Noodle Beef Soup-Eye Round Steak and she loved it! The pho place I usually go to was slammed today so I tried coming here and since it was my first time, I had no idea what to expect. I was seated and server took my order. I ordered a vermicelli bowl and spring rolls. Order did not arrive after 20 mins of waiting. Usually it doesn’t take that long for noodles and spring rolls. My usual pho spot would have those things out in 10 mins. And what was confusing was that they had a buffet table where people were getting up and getting their own food. I was confused. Did I miss something? Was I supposed to get my own food? Tried looking at their reviews which said it was their vegetarian buffet. Well, I didn’t order anything vegetarian so I tried waiting for my food and nothing was coming out so I grabbed my purse and left. It was a very frustrating and weird experience.
