King Kong Boba Tea & Smoothie — Restaurant in Garland

I feel a lot of regret and disappointment while I am typing this. I was debating whether to go to TeaZen or King Kong boba, I always see them on my way to work and back. I should have gone to TeaZen instead, I ordered a lavender milk tea, and it had no flavor whatsoever. I could compare it to drinking a glass of milk with sugar. I can not taste the lavender or oolong in this drink. Upon reading previous reviews before ordering, I saw a similarity with other reviews explaining this. I have tried many boba places, but I've never had a really bad boba drink until now. They are too small businesses, so I don't see a good excuse of why it tastes this badly. The korean corn dogs taste just like fried onions with ketchup and mustard. The portion is also very small. I have been to many korean corn dogs shops, so I do know what one tastes like. This is not even remotely close to it. The owner might say he does not specialize in making korean corn dogs, but in that case, why do you make and sell them at your store? 1/21/2023 :: Let me start by saying, I will go back to try other items so the rating may/may not change, but in regards to my first visit, it was extremely subpar. Phenomenal customer, clean restrooms, clean & vibey establishment throughout, however, this pizza was not it! The crust is pre-made which is not what you expect at a restaurant with freshly made pizza. They also charge $1/topping which is no problem, but I got a small sprinkle of each topping for $16 & it wasn't that flavorful. As mentioned, I'll give it another go!

First and foremost a convenient location to get in and out of, a very comfortable cafe with plenty of seating.

On our first visit here we tried both styles of K-Dogs, they were great tasting served with a very pleasant sauce and an order of their Cajun fries, perfectly seasoned and their fry oil is tasty with a nice crunch.

We also got a Mellon milk tea with boba, this is the only milk tea cafe in DFW to serve it and they do it amazingly, also got mango milk tea and the salted seafoam, all of the above were perfectly made.

The staff and owner were very pleasant and fun to talk with, explaining how they make up to three fresh batches of boba every day to provide the best tasting ingredients possible, something that we could tell from taste and texture even before he told us.

This is now our go-to boba cafe and we will definitely be back at least once a week and I can't wait to introduce our friends and family...
