TLDR: Authentic and Delicious. Give them a try. Orange chicken and Kung Po Chicken are amazing. Perfect heat not overwhelming.
Full Review:
I had always wanted to come to Ming's Kitchen. I was not disappointed a bit by my experience. The place is really well kept and masks are encouraged. I had no issues getting my order in and in about 10 minutes it was ready. (It can vary depending on how busy they are.)
I ordered Orange Chicken, Shrimp Lo Mein and Kung Pow Chicken. Also a couple of Egg Rolls.
The Orange Chicken was nice and crispy and the taste was rich and savory. The sauce really brought a taste to the dish and the broccoli on the side let me dip it into the sauce and not be overcooked or rubbery. It was crunchy and tasted great. I had some fried rice on the side, it really absorbed the taste of the sauce.
The Kung Pow Chicken had plenty of veggies, a bit too much celery, but otherwise really great. It had a really nice kick to it and the white rice complemented the heat and toned it down to be quite enjoyable.
The Shrimp Lo Mein had a wonderful presentation. It had plenty of everything. Soy sprouts, cabbage, carrots, shrimp and the noodles all in a nice and rich sauce that tasted a little smoky.
All in all definitely give Ming's a try. You'll be asking yourself why have you been going to the big chains all this time.
Also, I live about 20 mins from them but the food was still nice and hot when I arrived home. I even burned myself a bit with the Lo Mein thinking it would be a little cold! Never making that...
Read moreSince I am a huge fan of Americanized Chinese food, I've had it from Anchorage, Alaska, to Miami, Florida, and from Los Angeles to New York State and many cities in between. So, I'm always looking for a Chinese restaurant "of choice." I really like the General Tso's chicken at Ming's Kitchen--tender well cooked chicken with very good spicy sauce. The Moo Goo Gai Pan would be most excellent with more saltiness and more chicken. So, I have to add soy sauce. The most disappointing entre' for me is the (shrimp and other) fried rice. It seems to be nothing much more than rice, shrimp (and/or other meats), and a little soy sauce. It would be 99.9% better with perhaps a few green peas, diced carrots, diced white onion, green onion, and some egg. Yep, I'd order the Hot and Sour soup again. We're slowly making our way through the menu to find the things done best. Be sure to try the Ma Po Tofu...
Revision: Recently, I'd highly recommend more protein in their Mongolian Beef and Moo Goo Gai Pan...too much onion in one and too many vegetables in the other. Don't change the vegetables, just add more beef and/or chicken. Still don't like their fried rice the way it is. And, it would be so easy and inexpensive...
Read moreIt was our first time ordering from this place, and unfortunately, also our last. The lady who took the order over the phone was very polite, and she got our order down fine. However, we were told 45 minutes for the delivery. It is a Saturday night, so we could get over the food being 15 minutes late... but it wasn't. It was 30 minutes late. We ordered the food at 7:10, and it didn't arrive until 8:30. The kids were starving and grumpy. We ordered crab rangoon, (which barely had any crab), sweet and sour chicken, and spring rolls (which were over cooked.) We received one tiny cup of sweet and sour sauce with this entire order. The egg drop soup we ordered, ironically, contained very little egg. The food was edible, and the rice was pretty decent. But we were so starving by the time we dug in, it could have altered how well it all tasted, too. Who knows. The driver was super nice, so we gave him a decent tip. They apparently just need more kitchen help or better organization. Either way, there are too many other places to eat; we won't be jumping to repeat this experience...
