6 months ago this place was great, my original review is below. Quality, service, and atmosphere have taken a nose dive. They don't even serve chips and salsa anymore. REALLY!? A Mexican restaurant without chips and salsa! The food was very bland. I have never had white rice at a Mexican restaurant. They have painters plastic separating one-third of the dining area where they have their kids hanging out watching TV. I am thankful that we didn't bring anyone with us. I used to brag about this place. Now I would be embarrassed to take anyone here. -----old review If mama is a classically trained chef, then this is home cooking. The sauces are brilliant; nuanced not overpowering. Most Mexican cooking is so heavy with spice that each individual spice can not be tasted. Sazon's sauces are a treat for the tongue, balanced in such a way that each area of the tongue gets it's own treat. Masterful cooking that will wow you. Most chili rellenos are deep fried gut bombs, dripping with oil, then smothered in red sauce to mask the greasiness. Sazon's is crisp fried to perfection, sauce drizzled for looks and function and the red sauce in the plate, not smothering the entree, allowing you to taste the pepper as well it's stuffing. The dessert that we tried, the choco flan was a disappointment. It was only average. At a mediocre restaurant this would shine, but after the brilliance of the entrees, it paled in comparison. This little gem of a restaurant unfortunately is located in one of the worst locations possible. If it were in an upscale area they could charge three time the price and diners would feel like it was a deal. It is worth the drive; Google the directions and treat yourself to a great find.

Wonderful dining experience. My husband and I wanted some Mexican food and Google brought us here. When we arrived there it was almost empty so where it too sure of the placed but stayed. I ordered the Fajita trio which was delicious. It was not served on a skillet but on a regular plate. The meat was soft, non greasy or any fatty pieces. The beans were good. You must order a side of guacamole!!! I didn’t eat the rice because I was watching my diet but my husband loved it!! He ordered the chile rellenos which was huge and he was devouring it. He said that it was the best chile relleno that he has ever tried. He is super special with his food so this was good. Must try the homemade tortillas. I told the attendant that I needed a drink without sugar so she made me a special Jar of Jamaica without sugar. That was nice of her. They still went above and beyond to attend us even if they were closing soon. This is a family own restaurant, super clean and great customer service. The owner and his wife are the cooks. The husband is a professional chef that has worked in various prestigious places. His food is authentic Mexican that is made without the grease. We enjoyed our time. We felt at home. We will go back soon with the entire family.

Upon entering the restaurant, place was very clean and had business. I was then met with the heat of the place, the ac was off or out. They had floor fans going all around the restaurant. The hostess he was very friendly and led me to a table. He went and retrieved a Big Chalk Menu board . Which was pretty neat to me to see what they had to offer. The fresh guacamole is very delicious $6, but well worth it and very nice serving (picture added). Hostess suggested many items with details. I ordered the 3 Tacos and went for 1 chicken, 1 beef. The brisket taco was amazing and came with rice and beans. If your plan on going, make sure you are looking for real good, its in a old strip mall sort of empty and sits back aways. Look for the yellow metal entrance. Also it is BYOB

Come out and support this small family owned restaurant. All of our food was delicious!! The owner Mr. Rafael was sweet, attentive and provided great service. We started out with a great tasting, freshly made Guacamole along with chips and salsa. There's something about a great batch of chips that makes your food that much better. The salsa was mild - which for me was perfect. My husband on the other hand prefers a really spicy option. While we were waiting on the rest of our party to arrive. We decided to try the Birria Tacos (i saw the sign at the front entrance). It was Friday and we observe Lent - sooo Mr. Rafael said he would whip up his special - Birria style Shrimp tacos. These tacos were sooooo delicious! They had shrimp with a bit of sauteed mushrooms, cheese and mild pepper, and ohh sooo flavorful - instead of the consume - it was served with a tasty aioli sauce. My husband ordered his usual Bud Light- I had a refreshing Agua De Jamaica. Our teenagers arrived and we ordered : Mexican Shrimp Cocktail - great flavor, medium sized shrimp, very filling and tasty. Shrimp Enchiladas in a tomatillo sauce with with rice and refried beans : my husband ate them before I could even try a bite! Said they were delicious! Fajita Trio (chicken, beef and shrimp) with rice and beans. All was cooked and seasoned perfectly- especially the shrimp. My son did say he wished the serving was smaller than he usually sees in a fajita combo - but happy nonetheless. Salmon with an Ancho Chile Sauce : my daughter orders Salmon almost everywhere we eat if it's available. Salmon was cooked perfectly! the chili ancho honey sauce was the perfect touch served along with a corn casserole/medley and white rice. She absolutely loved it and since I had a small bite - I will actually order this for myself next time! We were pretty full but decided to share and Finished off with a yummy flan! P.S. The kids (teens) - asked to order more Shrimp tacos -to go! Give this place a try~ theyre trying to make it work in this covid restricted time. Happily Stuffed!! #SupportSmallBusiness #eatlocal Dine in or Order To Go! P.S. Karaoke nights starting...

I reviewed this restaurant 8 months ago, after a Wednesday evening visit [this may have been on Yelp ! ?]

I came across it while surfing one day, then one evening when I did not feel like cooking ,I went by myself to try it. I was very impressed.

Next I mentioned it to my then nueva, who scoffed and said " what do you now about Mexican cooking , white man "

It is located in a strip mall in a commercial area of town. This is not a fancy ,sophisticated restaurant. The decor is simple and pleasant, appropriate to a new place struggling to get established .the food however, including the sides,. is REMARKABLE, INVARIABLY tasty, beautifully presented , the seasonings and sauces very delicate, and sophisticated.,They NEVER overwhelm the food.

The atmosphere is primarily set by chef Raphael ! He cooks, sometimes serves, and makes time time to chat with his customers. He is the pastry cook and baker. His Sunday Brunch has developed quite a following, and we plan to attend tomorrow. He also caters. The first time we went as a couple the place was quiet, we spent a lot of time talking with him [ myself mostly through my interpreter, L. ] We ended up the last customers there, whereupon he turned off the TV, put on music, and invited us to dance to it ! L conceded that it was indeed excellent Mexican cuisine !

Nine months later, we have adopted it as 'our place' I have been greatly taken by Raphael's friendly personality and remarkable memory of prior conversations.

Every dish we have tried and shared / tasted has been wonderful. NOT ONE DISAPPOINTMENT, this evening was no exception !

YOU MUST TRY IT...
