08/21/2016 - I LOVE WH, but this was the WORST experience EVER. The table was sticky, the booth was sticky. We asked the waitress to wipe it down, she said she already did.
I ordered the 2 porkchop dinner with scrambled eggs add cheese and GRILLED onions, and hashbrowns. I was told that I could have ONE porkchop and be charged 2.00 for the 2nd one. I directed the apparently new waitress to the 2nd menu and showed her the porkchop dinner section.
We received our food, I had more onions than eggs and they were not grilled, although I reiterated this twice to the waitress. I let this go, just picked out the onions.
Apparently it was shift change, and one of the young fellas was so excited about getting off he started rapping behind the counter. The next shift came in and took over.
We went to check out and I pointed out that what I ordered was actually the Manager's special. I was told by TEA (pronounced TIA) that since I didn't get the onions and cheese in my hashbrowns that I couldn't be charged for the managers special. I was a little flabbergasted and repeated what she told me. Although I got everything on the Manager's special, which would have only have saved me a buck and some change, it was the principal. I couldn't have the special because I got the two toppings in my eggs instead of the hashbrowns - Blank Stare.
I asked where the Sanitation grade was. (it wasn't posted in the restaurant anywhere) TEA, informed me that she wasn't the owner, she didn't know where it was. I told her you NEVER tell a customer you don't know, you tell them you will find out. It's terrible customer service to say you don't know. Her and the young lady that was cooking went to the back, over the sink and found the grade. TEA stated that the grade was a 92. I asked her where the manager was, she said they didn't have a manager. I asked her did they not have someone in charge on this shift, and her response was "No, not really - the lady outside is probably in charge" So, the person that was supposed to be in charge of the restaurant had been outside on her phone during this whole entire conversation. At least 15 minutes.
I asked for the managers phone number, then I asked for the owners information. She said "This is a business, we don't have a owner" - Another Blank Stare. I asked her to write the managers phone number down and while she huffed and puffed and through all of her sarcasm, she wrote a number on the piece of paper so badly that it is impossible to read, and during her temper tantrum tore the paper with her pen.
I asked was the restaurant always so dirty? The sticky table, the floors had napkins and food in the dining area, tables that had left hadn't been cleaned. TEA never answered. I said that I would be making a phone call to corporate "tomorrow morning" and continued outside where I had a very short conversation with the "person in charge" who still hadn't gotten off of her phone.
I told her basically what had happened and that I felt that it was absolutely ridiculous that because I didn't get my toppings in my hashbrowns, but in my eggs instead that that revoked me from getting the Manager's Special. She agreed that it shouldn't have and apologized. She didn't ask what she could do for me, she just said "I'm sorry".
I'm sure there is more that I'm leaving out, but the end result is, I will NOT EVER go back to this particular Waffle House. Their grade of a 92 is a bit low for me seeing that they get points for having their serv safe certification. The attitude of the employees along with the horrible filthiness will forever deter me from stepping foot back in their doors. Which is sad because the young lady who does the cooking on night shift cooks the pork chops PERFECTLY.
I normally stay quite. Even when my order is wrong, or there is a bit of attitude. For me to write a review and send a complaint to corporate, this had to be a VERY BAD EXPERIENCE.
I sent a complaint to corporate via their email service. I'm curious to see if I am...
Read moreWheeeww. Walked in and was not greeted. 🙃 Sat at the table with my family and waited for a menu. Significant other ordered his drink without ice and got ice but the waitress had poured the remainder of the cherry flavor out of the bottle into his cup and when another wait staff informed her that there was more cherry in the back she said 'I know. I just don't feel like getting it' so he kept his drink with the ice in it. The food itself was decent but it seemed that the cook was being trained by the VERY forgetful waitress. When we got our food I did not have my pickles and my mayo for my sandwich, it took a minute to get the attention of the waitress as she had just sat down our food and walked away without asking if we needed anything else....when I did get her attention as she was walking away to get the items I had requested I realized we didn't have any ketchup and when I asked for ketchup she seemed very bothered that she had to go get that. Conversations amongst the wait staff in front of customers went like this 'Ahhh man. Here come another one.' Our waitress continued to 'forget' things. The wait staff was openly eating, walking over to their plates of food to grab a bite of their meal while ours was cooking and not tending to customers. Not one time were we offered refills on our drinks. We sat at the table for at least 10 minutes with empty plates and we did not get a ticket so I inevitability got up and just walked to the register to signify that we were done eating and ready to go. I've NEVER just felt like a tip should not be left for a waitress but she didn't get one from me. My Significant other felt bad enough that he did. Please take it from me....this is not an establishment that you should eat at. We will pass up next time and go to a...
Read moreIt’s 5am and i was pretty much the only one in there aside from two people who had already ordered and part of my order is missing because I failed to check the bag. The girl in front seemed pleasant enough but the relationship between her and the male cook seemed off like it was tension like they either got into it or don’t like working with eachother. Or overworked because I only saw them two working and nobody else. I called an it said to place an order online an unfortunately I do not feel like driving back. That was suppose to be my breakfast for tomorrow to help the hangover ima have but I guess I’ll just starve now. I got my bacon but no biscuits an gravy. I hate being that person to have to check but now I feel like I have to if I come back moving forward an unpack all of the Togo order just to make sure it’s right. My other stuff probably cold now since it took me a lil minute to write this before I go to bed. It wasn’t the usual older black lady working at tonight who always gets it right. If I come back a she not there I’ll just leave cuz she seems to be the only one to get it right. No shade to the young white lady who worked tonight an her cook but my morning is ruined. Waking up to disappointment. And I tipped so now I’m even more hurt because I know tipping is important but also so is quality of service...
