05/20/2025: I tried The Catch again for my family and my order came to be almost $85 with tip. I got the Admiral’s Platter and 10 piece catfish. All the seafood (catfish, shrimp, oysters, and crawfish) were all salty. All the food (seafood, fries, okra) minus the corn and new potatoes were fried in oil that wasn’t hot enough and was oily. Very disappointed and wasted a lot of money. Will not come again.
02/26/2021: I went to The Catch around 3:45 pm to beat the Friday night dinner rush. I ordered a white fish po boy with Cole slaw, large catfish basket with corn and potatoes, boudin balls, extra fries, and a sweet tea. The young male cashier was very friendly and helpful with my questions about the menu. For example, on the menu there are two menu items that were unclear to me: Catch Fried Fish and Whitefish. The menu doesn’t have a description of either. What’s the difference between the two? The cashier said it was the breading. The Whitefish has flour based coating and the Catch Fried Fish has cornmeal. He also suggested the fried green tomatoes, red beans and rice, and boudin balls. I took him up with the boudin balls.
Overall, the food was pretty decent. One of the pieces of catfish was a little small, but they tasted clean and they were cooked well. I didn’t really care for the tarter sauce. The flavor was a little off to me. Nothing bad, just off. The corn and potatoes that I got was really over cooked and mushy. I did like the cocktail sauce that they given me. The po boy was ok according to the significant other. He said that there could of been a little bit more seasoning on the fish. He did like the Cole slaw. We both liked the fries. They were crispy and crunchy. SO was thought the boudin balls needed more seasoning also. I liked the boudin balls. The exterior was really nice and crunchy. The overall prices are reasonable. With tip, it was almost $48.
I don’t think The Catch can replace Big/Aw Shucks in my mind. The Catch prices are better and the location is closer to me, which does help. I just think the catfish is better at Big/Aw Shucks.

Read moreMy wife and I visited for the first time today. We notified the cashier we had no idea what we'd like seeing it was our first time. She said ok & walked away leaving us to figure out what it was we'd be ordering. The menu isn't exactly well put together so you have to guess as to what are the combo options. After we finally got everything together and ordered, the meal came out to be a little over $50 bucks. I ordered the fish combo that was supposed to be 4 fried fish, fries, and hushpuppy. However I was only given 3 instead of the 4 paid for. My wife ordered jumbo shrimp combo. This includes 10 shrimps, fries, and hushpuppy. The hushpuppy's were the size of a nickle and you only receive 2 with the combo's that also does not include soft dinks. I was satisfied with the fish, in the sense that it wasn't nasty. The shrimp was nice and crispy however it was bland. Therefore my wife did not enjoy her food at all. I ordered a key lime pie that did not come when my dinner arrived. I had to go and inquire about my pie. They eventually brought the pie and it was a very small slice with runny whipped cream. The waiter brought us 2 plastic forks and placed them directly onto the table, wow, how gross is that. I had to get up and get my own fork at that point. Needless to say we will definitely never ever...
Read moreI’ll start by saying we were joyfully greeted when we entered the establishment which is a plus for me… but as me and my partner were discussing what we were going to have I mentioned I wanted red beans and rice, so the lady at the counter pointed out that there was a certain entree that included red beans and rice as a side so I chose that entree, when our food came there was green beans on my plate instead and we told the waitress that it wasn’t what we had ordered, she agreed to see what she could do about it and came back with no solution other than us buying an additional side that we were told came with my food, not to mention the green beans were sad and nasty otherwise I would have just eaten them cause I actually do like green beans. My man ended up going to the counter to order me the red beans and rice anyway because he knew that’s what I really wanted and the lady that took the order sat in his face and lied saying she heard us say green beans when we both clearly heard her say it would include red beans, he paid for it anyway. Aaaaand they sold us kool aid slushes passing them off as Margaritas, I cannot make that up, overall the food was really good, fried fish was bomb and the jumbo shrimp were huge, I’d just say clarify exactly what you’re getting...
