The cashier at the front counter was a lot more courteous than the lady manager on duty. I went there several years ago, and that SAME GROUCHY, HOT TEMPERED, AND CONSTANTLY FROWNING MANAGER was there back then!!! I rember how a complaining customer talked with her, and she took care of the problem, but offered no sympathy, and did not ask for any details about what went wrong. Just did the bare minimum and nothing more. The food there is great, and very fresh. The ingredient portions are a large amount. The taco seasoned meat, chicken, and refried pinto beans are all cooked fresh in house, along with grating cheese, diced tomatoes and diced onions. I can definately understand the high prices on the menu; it takes more labor to prepare the food like Taco Casa does. As a result, the food is better than Taco Bell, and I like Taco Casa better than Taco Cabana. Speaking of Taco Bell, Taco Casa is partly based on the old ways Taco Bell used to season their Taco meat, and used to cook pinto beans in a giant pressure pot, and once diced tomatoes and onions in house like they did when I worked there 35 years ago. A Taco Casa REGULAR TACO, and a TACO LITE taste exactly the same today as Taco Bell tacos and their now discontinued Taco Lite tasted in the 1980s, along with their RED SAUCE they use on their enchilada type item with the red sauce, cheese, and black olives on it that is served in a oval shaped bowl. I think it is the Enchirito. This RED SAUCE is not the same as the hot sauce they sell in bottles, or have in packets, it's used in the food service line on the various items and is identical in taste to Taco Bell's old 1980's...
Read moreWe usually don't eat out late at night, but my son wanted nachos. During the daytime this store is great, but that night the service was terrible. The line of cars was backed up to the street and I thought maybe someone placed a large order. I see other vehicles leaving the line and I should have done the same. I finally place my order: 2- orders of nachos add meat, 1-chilada with onions, 2 sodas without ice. As I pass the first window I look inside and see two guys hanging out and laughing about something in the back not really working. They were so loud I could hear them outside with the window closed. 1- talking on his personal phone and the other 1-had on the headset. 50 minutes later I get my order...they serve me drinks with ice which I specifically requested they be without ice. They give me a bag of food and it's missing one of the nachos and the jalapenos and the chilada didn't have any onions even though I asked for them. The cashier tells me they have to run my card again so they can charge me for that, but never apologized for the inconvenience. 12 minutes later they bring the new chilada and nachos to the window and the rest of the food got cold waiting. The employees seem to have no concern or manners, no integrity and it appears they have no leadership their either. I should have gone to Taco Bueno. After reading the other negative feedback, I don't really think the owner or manager really care about customer service. They probably just count money all day long. Remember that bad employees bring bad business and that's why so many...
Read moreI went to the restaurant and ordered several items from the menu, including chips and guac. I was in a hurry and failed to check my order in the drive thru, when leaving.
Upon reaching my destination, I realized I had no chips and guac. I was also given no receipt. I tried several times to call the restaurant before returning, and received no answer.
Therfore, on my trip home from my office the same evening, I returned to get the remainder of my missing order.
When I reached the restaurant for the 2nd time that day, I entered and asked for a manager. After a long wait, Nancy assured me that she'd help. Upon telling her my order wasn't complete, she advised that I needed a receipt and I advised that I definitely was not given one ... along with no chips and guac, which had coincidentally been missing several times when I visited the restaurant in the past.
Long story made shorter: She was able to search and find my receipt, confirming this she offered to finally return my chips and guac. So despite not being given my correct order in the first place, and not being given a receipt...I was still met with issues and very unhappy that I again, basically had to plead my own case there, after having to drive back to the restaurant, spend more time, gasoline and good energy for what was owed to me in the first place.
I am now indebted from my trip to Taco Caso. So if you'd like to pay for food that you don't get, would like to return and be your own attorney to get the food you paid for, then yes, visit the Taco Casa location on Broadway in...
