Just went out in the rain to eat here. Called first to make sure they do dine in. Got there and looked over the menu for about ten minutes as me and my wife decided what we will eat. Ordered my wife first, jerk chicken and oxtail large combo. Second I ordered curry goat and oxtail large combo. “Sorry sir, not enough for that”. Ordered large curry goat. “Sorry sir not enough for that.” Oxtail? “Sorry sir.” Don’t offer to put something together. Doesn’t offer other items. Just smile and say sorry. Now I know I may be asking for a lot, but how about go to KFC and they don’t have enough chicken? How about going into a pizza ship and no cheese? Better yet walk into Burger King and only to be allowed to eat chicken sandwiches. Then top it off charge me for 20 dolllars for one small a$$ tray of food. 730 and close at 9 and don’t have ish to eat. I will never go to this place or any other Caribbean hut again. From New York and this type of service or serving of Jamaican food ought to be ashamed of yourselves. How about suggesting what...
Read moreI am sharing my experience from about a month ago. I wanted to go back and share because I read a few reviews that said the food was salty (or tasted like soap).I will write a separate review with photos for my experience today. Although an establishment has the ultimate responsibility in the business equation, the customer has some responsibility too. Let the manager or a worker know (politely or as you wish to be treated) that there is an issue with your food.
Last month was not my first experience but it was the first time the collards (or any food here) was salty. I let the server know the greens were salty. She took them back and offered me another side instead. Beyond that the cook came out himself and asked the server to bring me a sample of a new batch of greens. They were not salty at all, they were perfect. He was humble and appreciative that I told him they were salty and he valued my input as the customer on the new batch. The food that days was EXCELLENT and so was the customer service....
Read moreI'm a transplant from Miami where I would always have Caribbean food, my favorite being Oxtails. I was so excited to learn that Caribbean Hut was a few minutes away. Very curious to try their food, I ordered take-out. I ordered the Oxtails with rice & peas, mac & cheese, and the beef stew. I received a call from them saying they ran out of beef stew and if I would like to substitute it for something else. I asked for their recommendation since it was my first time trying them, so he recommended the jerk chicken. All I have to say is, I can't wait for my family to come visit so I can take them to try their food! It was so flavorful, and the portions were perfect for the price. Very worth it. I have a feeling I am going to be a regular. UPDATE: I’ve become a regular, coming back for the curry chicken, fish soup, beef patty, and Mac & cheese. My family came for Thanksgiving and had them try the food and they loved it as well. Again, highly, highly...
