Me and my family went to La Fuente for dinner because we enjoy Mexican food. We ordered our food and somewhere along the lines, I asked for sour cream and guacamole. Our waitress brought over a big bowl of sour cream and guacamole, which is what I didn't ask for as it was supposed to be a small portion. When we asked to speak to a manager, we explained to her what happened and she seemed like she understood but didn't want to take the charges off. She did decide at some point to do it but in the process snatching the guacamole of the table because she was mad due to their error. After she returned to the table with our new receipt, I notice that there were extra charges. She ended up charging us for 4 sodas instead of 2. She called us nasty and gross for sharing drinks. Like really? This is my family. She claimed that in this "business" they don't do things like that. This was clearly retaliation for the guacamole and sour cream incident. Or was it also because we are an interracial family? I also found it interesting that charging us for the extra 2 sodas added up to the price of the guacamole ($4.50) and instead of her understanding that we should have been told this from the beginning she continue to insist that we were dirty. There was no apologies for the lack of communication. She said she was the owner but I have never seen her before as it usually a nice gentleman that is in there whenever we go. I don't appreciate this treatment especially after paying $50 for dinner.

We’ve been searching for a quality Mexican restaurant that offered traditional fare, beyond just tacos, enchiladas, and burritos and tonight.... we found it. It’s always a good sign when the salsa is fresh and just a tad spicy and the chips are hot and not greasy. The camarones al mojo de ajo was amazing. The shrimp was cooked perfectly. The peppers, onions and mushrooms weren’t mushy, cooked but still with a bite. I asked for it a little spicy and they gladly obliged. The spice level was perfect and the garlic really came through. Even the Spanish rice was super light and fluffy, perfectly seasoned. The carnitas in the Parrillada La Fuente stole the show. It fell apart on the fork. That just leaves the flan.... with Bailey’s. Enough said. Even if they’ll have to roll you out the door, get this dessert. Just do it. The wait staff was super friendly! Service is fast. Aaaaaand the margaritas were a real bonus!

Atmosphere was laid back but there weren't very many customers when we stopped in. Staff seemed polite and we had no issues with timing, delays or forgetting anything at all. My Carne Asada was delicious and the "current" best I have had in Gaston County. The other main meal pictured is the Pancho Villa Platter which was decent (not bad by any means but we'd be trying something different next time). The last was a kids Cheese Quesadilla which was a good sized portion and tasted good. The rise was a tad on the dry side but good. The beans were a more chunky style with whole beans within and were also good. We will be returning to try other meals as well but it's good to know I have another option for Carne Asada in the area.

I've been coming here for over 20 years. The quality of the customer service has declined rapidly in the last 3 years. At first, I thought it was just a fluke, maybe got a new waitress or she was having a bad day. The food was good even if the service was sub-par. But...after this last time, I will not be back. Service was awful. Our waitress was the older lady that's been there forever. Had to ask repeatedly for cheese dip, which came out maybe a minute before our food. Asked 3 times for a side of guac. She is literally the best waitress they had, so if she isn't doing her job well that tells me the whole business is really bad. Onto the food. Ordered the fajitas and they came out not even sizzling. More onions than meat, more chicken than steak. Cheese dip barely warm. Chips for the chips and salsa tasted old. So disappointing as this used to be my favorite Mexican restaurant. Literally, used to go there a couple...

I visited this establishment for the first time this past weekend while performing contract transportation services for Queen City Tours and Travel. I had a taste for authentic Mexican cuisine and was elated that this eatery was located near Wal-Mart, Dollar Tree, and Aldi's which were all stops on my shopping list.

The staff was very friendly and while awaiting my take out order I noticed a young male worker cleaning the laminated menus used by customers. What caught my attention was the detail in which he gave each menu to ensure that they were spotless. He even cleaned every crevice around the edges where most workers would not.

I am a retired U.S. Army Veteran and former Drill Sergeant and am quite familiar with attention to detail. This young man should be complimented by management and ownership and given a raise for going above and beyond the call of duty.

Hoepfully he will be on duty during...
