Mamacitas Food Truck — Restaurant in Gastonia

4/6/23 update - today I had the taco Thursday special with chorizo tacos. Been here multiple times and the food quality is on point consistently. Took a closeup photo of these beauties. I was extra hungry so ordered 6 if them! 😋

Original review - This place is a hidden gem! Today was my first visit and I took advantage of their Taco Tuesday offer. At the time of this review, the Tuesday special includes three small tacos and a drink for $5.99. I actually bought 2 Tuesday specials so I ate 3 steak tacos and 3 pork tacos. Just from my photos you can see these tacos are legit. Even the tortillas used for these tacos taste way better than the typical competitors. The ladies also do right by properly heating up the tortilla and seasoning it up correctly before loading it up with the delicious fillings. The medium and hot salsas paired up well with these tacos. My brother told me about this food truck when I moved to Gastonia, and I've been enjoying their food ever since. The employees are always so polite and friendly, and they knew me by name after only a couple of visits. I love supporting small local businesses, Mamacita's is no exception.

The food is fresh, healthy, affordable, and local. You would be doing yourself a disservice by not trying this place out, especially on Tuesday or Thursday when they run a $6 three taco special. The tacos are made with double flour tortillas which helps to hold the generous portions without falling apart. Amazing churro's if you want a little desert to boot. Excellent bang for your buck. I would recommend any taco or burrito lover to give Mamacita's your business.

Fair warning, their hot sauce is delicious, but HOT. Start with mild or medium if you aren't accustomed to spicy foods, but you can't go wrong ordering...
