Mic's Kitchen in Gastonia is one of those hidden gems that you almost don’t want to share—because once people find out how good it is, they’ll be lining up out the door. Tucked away in a modest space, this small but quaint spot delivers big on both charm and flavor.
From the moment you walk in, the welcoming atmosphere puts you at ease. There’s a warmth here that goes beyond the décor—it feels like you're being invited into someone’s home for a great meal. The staff are attentive and friendly, but a special shoutout goes to Chloe C, our server, who truly elevated the experience. Her kindness, knowledge of the menu, and genuine care made me feel like a regular, even though it was my first visit.
Now, let’s talk about the food—because wow! Every bite was packed with flavor and clearly made with love. Whether you're craving a hearty Maryland classic or something a little more inventive, Mic's Kitchen delivers with a menu that's both comforting and creative. The portions are generous, the ingredients fresh, and the flavors unforgettable.
It’s rare to find a place where both the service and food are exceptional, but Mic’s pulls it off effortlessly. We left full, happy, and I'm already planning my next visit—there are so many more menu selections I am eager to try.
Highly recommend for anyone in the Gastonia area (or even a bit beyond)—this spot is well...
Read moreUpdate: how would I be able to get in touch to get my order remade?
I will gladly change this review if issue is fixed. I regularly eat here and love their food when it’s good, but lately when ordering Togo I’ve gotten multiple times where my fries were undercooked. Also the buffalo chicken wrap was not as described on the website. Website says crispy chicken and I got grilled chicken. It was still good just would have preferred the crispy chicken, but my fries were inedible. I was really disappointed and hungry only to be able to eat a partial meal and just disappointed overall. I called to get situation fixed and left a message to try to at least get situation fixed so I wouldn’t have to leave a post. Waited a couple of days and no call. No answer. Nothing. As previously said, I love their food when it cooked all the way, but now I’m a little scared to eat here again given this situation and other situations where my fries are undercooked and inedible. It’s like I’m playing Russian roulette with my food when ordering from here. Hoping this review is useful for improvement with the food and better at handling situations where food is fixed or credited or something when food is not good or edible. But hoping improvements are made because this place definitely has the potential...
Read moreThis is one of my rare, low end reviews. After hiking at a local state park my fiance searched for local eateries and Mic's popped up. We like smaller, non chain restaurants and the menu looked outstanding so we dipped in. The staff was friendly but our server was slow to even stop and order drinks. She also only checked in with us one time and never offered refills. That said, she was friendly and she did seem newly employed. Now the food? The food was outstanding. Having hiked over five miles with only an energy bar all day, we were very hungry. The food took a while to get to the table but it was all hot and fresh. Despite that, there were many things on the menu we couldn't order because the bar crawl was coming. We really wanted the onion rings and they were off the menu, which was disappointing. Again, the food though was great!! I don't usually eat this kind of food but being in such a calorie deficit I could cheat and probably one of the best burgers I've had in years. The fries, vinegar & salt were amazing. They have this salt & vinegar powder which was perfect. The fiance did order a dessert, which never came and was not on our bill so that was disappointing as well. Overall though, based off just the food, it was a great stop to...
