Four edits
FOURTH: I ordered two milkshakes to go. No one would take my order, so I used a kiosk. It's been 30 minutes, and I still don't have milkshakes. Sighhh
THIRD: Well, I'm on my third visit and they really have some growing pains. The food is still decent but the service is kind of a mess as is the set up of ordering. The prickly pear lemonade was decent.
The onion rings were available this time and they are fine. My husband had the chicken sandwich which he enjoyed.
SECOND: tried the breakfast tacquito which was decent in size and flavor but more of a burrito. The breakfast potatoes look more like a mozzarella stick in shape. They were ok. Service was a little slow for 7:30 on a Thursday but the food was OK for the fairly reasonable price.
FIRST: I went on a rainy Thursday at 11am and had to park in the adjacent lot and walk over. Not a big deal. The drive thru line was already pretty long but it was pretty quick to order inside. I opted to use one of two awkward kiosks.
I was able to use the kiosk quickly and found a nice, clean table. They do bring your food out and everyone was very nice.
I tried a general burger and added cheese. I like that there are cheese choices! The burger was good and quite large for the price. Reminded me of a mix of Freddy's and Burger King - in a good way.
Fries were also solid, like a more robust McDonald's fry. Also mean that in a good way, because I find McDonald's fries to be mediocre at best.
They were sold out of onion rings and some of the drinks were running out, but they had Barq's so I was good.
The drinks are HUGE. When I go back (or one closer opens), I'd probably order a Junior meal or try to share. I also got a banana pudding milkshake which they didn't initially bring out. It was quite good. I got the small which was, small, but fine. It also froze well as I wanted my spouse to try it.
My experience was solid. I arrived at 11 and was back in my car by 11:30. Even with the milkshake I only spent $15. Given the portions, this was a pretty good deal for what I feel is better than a lot of fast food.
Oh, the spicy ketchup is nice. Not super spicy. The honey mustard was just mid. But I'm a honey...

Let’s start with the food. That’s what you’re really here for, right? It’s okay. Definitely nothing to wait in line for. Which, you will wait in line here. It’s like they want to be a Steak and Shake without the taste. The patty melt is the favorite for this place? It’s mediocre at best.
Now let’s move onto the store. My god. Who are all of these people that filled out a job application for a job they don’t want to work?? I’ve never seen such mismanaged and misguided people in my life. Employees DO NOT speak to you. They just assume that you know they’re ready for you to order. They don’t confirm your order, they just get quiet. Are we done? Did you get my order correct? Want to repeat it back to me? Maybe tell me I can pull up to the window?
Not to mention, all but one of the employees I had the displeasure of interacting with had in headphones. As a business owner, if my main point of contact for customers had in headphones, I’d be finding new workers. Especially when they can’t hear a simple request for a condiment that was on the receipt and never placed into the bag.
About that condiment; how many times do I need to ask for a pack of honey mustard? Not that it matters. After waiting 10 more minutes I just left because obviously it was never going to happen.
This store is horrible. The food is mediocre. The employees are useless. The line is long. I’ve never seen such a sad excuse for “fast food”. I don’t know what the hype is for this place. People should stop going here. Maybe a lack of business will give them time to figure out how to manage their business.
Go to Steak and Shake. It’s across the street. You’ll be...
Read morewent to the opening day excited about getting food from this restaurant l have eaten at their restaurants all over texas and was happy to see it coming here. well when l got there the lines were tremendous both inside and drive thru so l parked and got out and went to stand in a very slow moving line. l tried to explain that l was disabled but was not offered any alternative to standing in line. l asked a member of management was there a Veteran's discount l always ask it helps me decide whether l want to eat or support a business. l was told yes and that helped me decide to gut it out and wait in the long line. stayed in line for over an hour finally made it in had to use a kiosk even though there were other having their orders taken at a register. ask for my discount was told very abruptly and with a snicker that the restaurant does not give a Veteran's discount. went to a table and watch other patrons getting served but it took a uneasy length of time to get my food was referred to as "man" several times by staff that had my food had to tell him not to refer to me with that verbiage, was also interrupted several times after l put food in my mouth to answer questions about the taste of the food. l thought that it was very odd and strange that the staff would see me putting food in my mouth and then immediately ask a question. subsequently l will not be returning to this location and l do not recommend it just based on some of the treatment l received and other things l saw. they will be fine in gaston county l just don't have to spend my...
