Rhudy's Café — Restaurant in Gatesville

Looking for a homemade chicken sandwich that has been marinated in the perfect blend of spices for 24 hours? A sandwich that is juicy, and the flavor just melts in your mouth? A sandwich that also has a perfectly toasted buttered bun? And to top it all off, it's a local business? Then Rhudy's Cafe is the place to go!!

I drove up, it's located in an RV park but there's plenty of space, and was immediately greeted by Rhudy. He apologized that he wasn't quite ready to start cooking yet, but I just got off of work so I was more than happy to take a breather in my car. When he and his wife were ready to cook, he came out and let me know and I walked up and ordered.

I got a fried chicken sandwich topped with pepper jack cheese, some classic potato chips, and a nice cold unsweetened tea. Food was awesome. I am a huge chicken fan and when I tell you this is one of the best fried chicken sandwiches I have ever had, you best believe it.

However, the food wasn't the best part. The best part was Rhudy's and his wife's infectious postive upbeat personality. It was cold today when I went, so they even brought it out to my car after I was done. Next time I go, I will definitely be hanging out some. I've heard they like to play music and just like to chat in their outside seating area they have, and sunshine and good company is something everyone needs.

I will be coming back and trying more items. I'm definitely going to be keeping an eye out for...

I went here for the first time. The guy was very friendly. He suggested the fried chicken. I was great. Far better than any chicken sandwich you can get from that "fil-a" company. You want a great chicken sandwich, Rhudy's is the place to go....
