Enigma by Altiro Group – Geneva, IL
Enigma is the latest gem from the Altiro Group, and it’s quickly establishing itself as one of Geneva’s most exciting culinary destinations. Now teaming up with Chef Christian Orozco—whose pedigree includes standout kitchens like Tzuco, the acclaimed (and Michelin-starred) Acadia, and several other top-tier restaurants in downtown Chicago—Enigma brings serious talent and ambition to the suburbs.
From the moment you walk in, you feel the energy: the vibe is vibrant but intimate, the drinks are creative and perfectly balanced, and the food? Absolutely next level.
Chef Orozco’s influence shines through every dish—thoughtfully plated, boldly flavored, and grounded in refined technique. Whether you’re coming in for a casual dinner or a special night out, this place delivers. The service is warm, attentive, and knowledgeable without ever feeling stuffy.
Great food, great drinks, and great service—what more can you ask for? Enigma is a welcome (and needed) addition to Geneva’s dining scene. Don’t sleep...
Read moreWe arrived expecting Altiro, but we had a great experience at this new concept by the same owners. Seasonal, creative menu. The chef sent a complimentary appetizer (tuna) when he heard we had been anticipating Altiro (it was a little slow, on a Tuesday after 7, so I don't think it's something they'd always do). It was a thoughtful gesture and it was delicious. We enjoyed everything we ate. The waitress was very friendly in an authentic way--you could tell she loves her job. Same with the chef. The only thing I'd change is the fountain outside. It has been there since it was Altiro. While I can appreciate the idea behind it, it's very loud and, in my opinion, it does not add to the ambiance. I'd for sure go back, and look forward to seeing how the menu evolves as the...
Read moreWe had an incredible meal here. We started rom the appetizer, crostinis. These were lovely to look at and each bite was a different pop of flavor. This was served on a black plate which just sang of fine dining experience. For our entree we selected the Wagyu. It was also a feast for the senses with the lovely plating, the aroma of the food, and the incredible taste. The steak melted in the mouth. The two sides were very yummy, also. The asparagus was cooked perfectly still providing a satisfying crunch while being well cooked. The potatoes were somehow both sweet and savory. To finish out our meal we ordered the hibiscus flan. This was another feast for the eyes as much as a flavor treat. So delicately pretty and also yummy! It did not disappoint! The surroundings were high end, but for all of this I felt the price was quite reasonable. We will be heading...
