On Monday, I was flown to Chicago to start work with a new trucking company. Unfortunatel, the truck I was offered was unsafe, and so the company gave an ultimatum to either drive the truck or else walk back home to Arkansas, so Wednesday morning I departed on foot with my 50 lb duffle bag strapped on my back, and made it about 20 miles to Batavia, where I found a bench to rest my back and legs. Luckily, I ran across two officers seperately that were of tremendous assistance. I was taken to a hospital by Batavia, IL, which turned me away on account of my being homeless. I wasn't even allowed to charge my phone🤣 But as I was walking my route toward home in Bella Vista, AR, I happened by this diner. I was craving a cup of coffee, so the Lord told me to turn in here. The waitress informed me that my meal would be free, as a patron had payed it forward shortly before I arrived. I have not experienced such warmth in ages. Give this diner your business. The food is delicious and the staff possesses hearts of gold. As God is my witness, I am telling the truth. I feel that good things are shortly to come their way. Amen😇 Merry Christmas EVERYBODY. Don't think that miracles are either dead or past. Just don't discount the small ones, for they are occurring every moment in greater procession than evil. Those who have eyes to see and ears to hear, take heed❤ Grace and Peace from my Father, and in the Holy Spirit. May the Lord bless you and keep you. Keep hope alive, and be...
Read moreLove this place! I recently decided that I am no longer going to eat at breakfast joints that don't have a diner counter (just because it's not a diner without one), and I'm really glad this place does, because their food is very good and very reasonably-priced.
The staff is very friendly and always attentive. The place is small: you're going to hear conversations around as well as the hustle & bustle of the cooks and waitresses, because it's all one room, like a great diner should be.
They usually have a breakfast special that's not only good but almost a steal. I haven't had lunch here yet but I'm willing to bet it's just as good as the breakfast. They serve pretty good coffee, and it's strong, not watered down like many breakfast joints in Chicagoland tend to do.
And, it's located just west of all the great stuff in downtown Geneva, so take a stroll after breakfast and check out the gorgeous Main Street buildings and shops as well as those south of Main on 3rd Street.
Don't skip it, folks. If you're not from the area, it's worth the drive to have brekkie here and then spend some cash in downtown Geneva. Makes for a nice weekend...
Read moreWe got here at 9:00am on a Sunday and had to wait about 20 minutes before we were seated (they are very busy on weekends, so it would be best to visit on weekdays), but the staff worked very fast to get us a table! Our server was very nice and helped us feel comfortable. It was a long wait before we got the food - about an hour - but we were a party of seven people. However, the food justified the wait time! Everything was high-praise worthy and we especially enjoyed the Reuben Sandwich, and the Spinach and Mushroom with Cheese Omlette! The food was very savory and tasted fresh; we were especially amazed when the french fries and hashbrowns weren't greasy, but still absolutely delicious! The only criticism was the coffee, which tasted watered down. That aside, we left absolutely satisfied with our breakfast! This would be an excellent pick for breakfast or brunch on the beautiful...
