The food unfortunately was very bland and unimpressive. I specifically had an issue with my drinks. I ordered a Sprite which I then switched to a Coke. Somehow they both tasted as if they were watered down. We also had issues with our server and wait time. We arrived and were seated quickly and our server asked for our drinks and recommended their freshly squeezed strawberry orange juice. It took about 10 minutes after we got our drinks to have our order taken. Once they were put in we waited roughly 40-50 more minutes to receive our food. It was a bit disheartening when a table of 6 (we were a table of 4) who had our same server were sat down, had their orders taken, and received their food before we did. A positive was the strawberry orange juice. It was very tasty but even that was not perfect. It's served in a tall thin glass and the price we saw on the menu wasn't the price we were charged. We thought maybe it had to do with large vs. small but the waitress did not differentiate with us and the small glass was $5 each. Lastly the price and portion sizes. The price is slightly above average for the quality food that they serve, and their portions are mid range. All in all it is disappointing that there are places right down the street who excel in all the aspects that this location failed at. Especially for the price and quality there is another restaurant nearby that not only has bigger portions but vaslty better taste and service for a lesser cost. Unfortunately the nice location and building don't match the quality of the inner workings of...
Read moreNosh has come a long way since my first visit at their old location. The dining area and the ambiance have always been great, if a little loud. Very bright and open and airy. A very welcome departure from the standard dark color palette of most breakfast restaurants that are typically quite cramped in an attempt to pack as many patrons into the space as possible. Nosh doesn't do that, so good on ya!
What i mean when i say they've come along way is the menu. The menu has always been great, with an eclectic mix of minimalist menu items that include some interesting combinations you won't find at your mom and pop's diner. But since the new location opened, the menu has exploded (in the best way possible) with tons of fantastic new options that are absolutely delicious.
The new location also has at least double the amount of seating as the old one, which is great because you would often find a wait. But they also retained the brightness and openness with lots of windows and beautiful modern design elements.
If i had one complaint it would just be the noise, but that seems to be ubiquitous in breakfast restaurants for some reason. It's also a natural consequence of the open floorplan.
The moral of the story, get in your car right now and head over to Nosh. You...
Read moreCame in to grab some breakfast because I saw that many reviews were positive regarding the food and I wanted to try a different restaurant in Geneva. Though I am not doubting what others had to say about the food; I personally thought the food gross. I ordered the chilaquiles. Normally, I typically love this meal, and am excited to see it on a menu anywhere I go. However, I would not recommend anyone to order this. The presentation was sloppy, the chips were overly soggy (literally disintegrating), and the chicken was unseasoned and dry. I took two bites and had to order a different menu item because it was that bad. I then ordered the breakfast burger, which was fine. However, I felt the sandwich lacked robust flavor. It just tasted bland. Despite the poor food, our server (Alyssa) was great. She was timely and understanding. Additionally, despite me telling her not to take the chilaquiles I ordered and sent back off the bill, her and the staff did so anyway. In summary, service was great and the atmosphere was good, and although other menu items might be better, the food I ordered was so bad and lackluster, that I cannot say my...
