East End Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Geneva

Not gonna lie, I am very hesitant to ever go back. Went in with my buddy tonight looking to grab some grub. Immediately every patron turned and looked. We sat at the bar... the bartenders ignored us walked past many times (about 5 minutes of sitting) she finally asks us if we are getting food gives us a menu and walks away. So to clarify the feeling I got was like that scene in the movie American werewolf in London when the two guys go into the slaughtered lamb pub, and everyone is extremely unwelcoming and gives the vibe they don't want the guys there. That's exactly the feeling that I got here. We were never welcomed, no introduction to the bartender, no questions on if we've been there or not, no recommendations, honestly just no customer service period... the only bar or pub I have ever been to that I had a worse experience at was at Harassments in Jefferson... seriously... I have worked in sales/customer service and marketing for 15 years and managed businesses for 9 years... it's pretty standard to greet customers, especially new ones... make them feel welcomed and try to make sure that they have a good time so they return... So obviously if you're not a regular, DO NOT GO! they will ignore you and make you feel so awkward and of place.... hopefully going into 2024 this place shapes up... definitely would not...

We eat there often. Most times, it may be busy ( understandable).. But we stopped last week, went to bar to see if we needed to order at bar etc. The waitress then came over and all was great... food is delicious.. drinks reasonable... but we showed up with 11 on weekday afternoon. Place was very slow. Table next to us had server go to it 3 times. Totally ignoring our table ( which we were all at separate tables not to be a pain)... we were never acknowledged. Not even a "someone will be right w you". We even tried to move inside.. no one looked happy to see us... after 15 min we decided to leave. We ended up spending about 350$ Tipping out over $100. I'm in the business... I would never let that business walk out without service....or try to save it... I was very disappointed... we are coming back in a week. We will give it a try again.... service everywhere is horrid. ( including @ my place).. my workers do the same.... let's hope we all get...

Much of GOTL was already closed for the season. East End was one of the few eateries still open. East End is built for high season big crowds, heavy drinking and loud music. So we and a few others felt very alone. Immediately seated and a very friendly server came by. She made our drink orders appear immediately. She offered some food suggestions and our orders appeared darn quick. I had a burger , my partner a salad. Both were very good. Much better than expected. Prices were tourist resort high. But we were happy with the food and my partner's Mermaid Water cocktail. No doubt this review would be very different in high season. But...
