The sign outside caught our attention, shrimp and lobster fries. We wondered in and found a seat. The waitress was quick to bring our menus and take our drink order. Sticking to the first item that drew us in we ordered the shrimp and lobster fries. Thick fries topped with lemon garlic cajun shrimp and lobster drizzled with a cajun aoili sauce, $15.00. These did not disappoint. The fries were crisp and hot. The large whole shrimp and chunks or lobster were cooked and seasoned perfect. Put this all together with the aolio sauce and you have a delicious appetizer. A gentleman came over and asked how we liked the fries. Impressed and delicious we told him. That is when he told us a chef prepares the food here, not a cook. If that be the case then our meals better be just as good. I choose the lobster roll, $13.00. A New England style roll buttered and grill stuffed full with lobster and old bay aoili. My husband selected the Chorizo sausage and shrimp burger, $14.00. A 1/2 lb char-grilled burger topped with chorizo sausage and shrimp and pepper-jack cheese. We both decided that yes a chef prepares the food not just a cook. Sportsterz Bar and Grill was a yummy and pleasant surprise. We will be returning soon to oder the shrimp and...
Read moreI recently visited the Wanna Be Biker Bar, and I have to say, my experience was a bit of a mixed bag. On one hand, the atmosphere is lively and definitely has that classic biker vibe, which I appreciated. The decor is fun, with plenty of motorcycle memorabilia that adds character to the place.
However, I found the prices to be quite steep for what you get. It felt more like a tourist trap than a genuine biker bar. The drinks were decent, but I expected more bang for my buck, especially considering the hype surrounding this spot. The food was average at best, and I was hoping for something a bit more authentic.
If you're in the area and looking for a fun place to grab a drink with friends, it might be worth a stop. Just be prepared to pay a premium for the experience. For true biker culture, I’d recommend checking out some of the local spots that offer a more authentic vibe without the touristy feel. Overall, it’s a fun place...
Read moreMet my son in Geneva on the Lake to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and to have an enjoyable meal on this lake front property. We all decided to meet at Sportstebz on the strip. A large eatery with an outdoor bar and stage for bands and social gatherings plus an indoor bar with additional seating for the public. We ordered their house special, which was recommended, the creamy shrimp and sea food fries. It wasn't bad. The cheese sauce complimented the fries fairly well. I ordered a simple mushroom burger, which was a disaster. It was basically cream of mushroom soup spilled over the top of a burger with two slices of bread between it. I ended up finishing the monstrosity with a fork and knife. I wasn't impressed. I think the next time we visit we'll try a new...
