La Leyenda Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Geneva

Food was great. Service was beyond unacceptable. I went there on my lunch break in my work vehicle, which is unescapably recognizable. I didn't clock out for break since I figured it'd be less than 30 min. I hadn't even had a single bite and the check was presented. I considered that a good sign, that the server recognized I was there for a work lunch. Halfway thru my meal, nobody had come by, nobody had refilled my tea. There were 2 other tables with 2 people at each table. I waited 42 minutes. Other people with larger tables came in, ate, and left in that time. Their drinks were refilled. Finally I called from my booth. I left a message. The fourth time I called, I finally got someone and requested a refill. Her apology included the disclaimer that because the check was on the table, she chose to ignore me. I finished my meal, paid full price, and left a $2 tip (I usually leave more). You couldn't pay me enough to return. If I hadn't been in my work uniform, representing my company, I'd have selected...

The staff are quite friendly and the food is of high quality. If you can go during the day when the daily special is the fajitas you get a good deal of value for your money! There's plenty of parking so even when it is busy you can still find a spot. Margaritas are covered under happy hour, which is always a plus in my book.

Now for the negatives. My biggest gripe is that they charge you for extra tortillas for your fajitas and they only give you 3 to start with. This leads to you either ending up with about a quarter to a third of the food left uneaten because you couldnt fit it in the fajitas. Now granted I put the rice and the lettuce and so on in with the meat and peppers so that explains some of the lack of room.

I have no complaints about the quality of the food, the cleanliness of the eating utensils, or the service of the staff. A few times I have had to wait for someone to give me a check...

If I could give it less than a star I would. I sat down for a literal hour and was not served once outside of chips and the initial drink. I tried several times to get the waitresses attention over that hour and the only one that approached my table said my waitress would be with me shortly after I told her I’d been waiting 30 minutes. It wasn’t even that busy. I got up to leave after no service and the owner or manager who works the desk pretended to be sympathetic towards me after I told him what happened. Then charged me for a drink and chips/salsa after the waitress said she’d speak to him about waiving the fee after what happened! I can’t comment on the food I didn’t taste any! I’ll will never go here no recommend anyone...
