Stopped for gas near by. We got a some breakfast tacos to hold us over for the rest of the drive. We found that they were better then many in Austin. Thick corn tortillas that were lightly cooked so the outside had a nice crunch but inside was soft and flexible. The amounts of bacon, egg and cheese and potato and eggs were generous and served piping hot. One was just enough without making me uncomfortable for the rest of our trip home. The salsa would be considered mild unless you won the salsa lottery and got a seed, which bumped the level to medium. Seemed like all locals were eating there, but us, which is always a good sign. Very pleasant staff....

Portions are small and rice and beans are not great. To go orders from every over Mexican restaurant I have ordered from come with a separate large container containing a lot of beans, rice, other veggies, and maybe some sour cream or guacamole. Read moreWe like to try different restaurants on our trips between McAllen and Austin. Saw the reviews were good for Jalisco Mexico so we had to try it. It did not disappoint! First let me say the salsa and chips were excellent. We ordered the Texas and Mexican enchilada plates. Very good as well. It was not crowded so the service was fast and friendly. It got crowded before we left though. My only complaint were the restrooms. No paper towels in the men’s and my wife said the toilet would not flush in the women’s. We would definitely go back for the food. So many great choices...
