Ida's Pastry Shoppe — Restaurant in Georgetown Charter Township

I ran out of options for really GOOD donuts and baked goods, until I remembered “Ida’s”. Easy to get to at 7645 Riverview Dr. in Jenison. There is NO comparison! Every item they sell is made like my grandmother would have made them… SO good! My favorite: the Cherry 🍒 Danish Pastry, next: the Orange Bread 🍞. After that I would say the donuts 🍩, oh, and cookies. Oh my! Such a huge variety (almost too many choices). They make these awesome seasonal treats, too! Yummy! I’m glad that they’re closed on Sunday and Monday… that’s two days that I eat stuff that’s MUCH better for me. Look, just stop in and look around. I have been coming to this bakery for 20 years for their amazing cakes , donuts and cookies. The last couple years we have had issues with quality and service from their staff. I thought I’d give them a try again and tried to order my daughter’s birthday cake. The person who took my order was rude, she had issues with me asking question since we have had issues the past few visits. The worst thing an employee can do is hang up on a customer. Well she did just that! I will not be returning to Ida’s and I will tell all my friends and family that customer’s are not appreciated at Ida’s and longer. What an absolute gem! Best apple fritter in the city in my opinion and my wife thinks the Boston Cream is better than the bakery in downtown Grandville (which had been the gold standard). Walking in, felt like walking into my grandmother's kitchen and the staff was very friendly.
