I am incredibly disappointed to have to write a very negative review. I have eaten Mexican food in many places in Arizona, places in Mexico, California AND close to home, the Burton heights neighborhood etc. This was first of all the messiest, greasiest take-home food I've ever encountered. When I ordered the food I was greeted by a very very kind and sweet woman. That is the only reason that this has one star. When I grabbed the takeout bags they were already covered in grease but I really didn't think that much of it until I got home and I could barely open the bags because they were so greasy. We had approximately 7:00 take out containers and all of them were covered in Grease so we couldn't even set them on the counter we had to empty everything out into dishes. I ordered a quesadilla that had ground beef in it and I could not even open the parchment and aluminum foil lined quesadilla it was the size of a ginormous burrito and it was leaking ground beef grease. It barely had any cheese in it and probably, no joke at least a half a pound or more of ground beef. Now most people wouldn't complain about that but you couldn't taste anything else except the not very good quality ground beef grease. It was for my kids and they did not like it. I ordered the wet burritos with steak but it still seemed very much like the ground beef, it came with the refried beans (which were fine) and Spanish rice which tasted like the type of rice that you microwave in a pouch and had a very plastic flavor no other kind of flavor no seasonings at all. The meat was not seasoned either. The tortilla chips we're fine, they were unsalted. All in all never would I go back and never have I written such a Negative sad review. Also I spent almost $70 so pretty unhappy about wasting that money. Also ordered the Guacamole for $5 and half was already...
Read moreThis is my first and possibly only review I’ll ever write. That should tell you all something right there… I feel like I’d be doing my community a disservice by not sharing our families terrible experience. The majority of our food was truly disgusting. The meat in our burritos had a unique taste - a mix between burnt and spoiled…. I couldn’t swallow more than a few bites until we asked for something different. At the end of the meal, we learned that we were still charged for the bad (possibly contaminated) food AS WELL AS THE REPLACEMENT FOOD!…. So needless to say, the customer service was possibly WORSE than the food… There was no convincing the server that we shouldn’t have to pay for the inedible food. I graciously looked pass the fact that our server was as confident as a church mouse and we had to ask her to repeat herself numerous times. I looked pass the fact she made simple mistakes of not getting us the correct silverware or cups for drinks. I can’t look past the fact she made us pay for the food that was frankly - GrOSs…. Our church mouse server all of a sudden had a voice! We paid and left a fair/generous tip, helped our kids box up the remaining food we purchased (to choke down later…) and on the way out, another employee yelled something along the lines of “Are you going to pay?!” It took all I had not to verbally destroy them in front of all of their customers. So - in summation…. Think twice before dining in here. Think twice about the legitimacy of the “prepared” food before you order. Think twice before considering this...
Read moreI’m not fond of giving low ratings but we had a couple issues.
My wife went in and ordered. It was just before lunch, so we can fully understand it might take a bit to get our food. She ended up standing at the counter for a half hour. People were coming in 10-15 minutes after her, ordering, and getting their food before we even saw ours. It’s almost as if they forgot.
The food was wildly inconsistent. The asada itself was great. The beans tasted good. However, the tacos were a mess. I had one taco that did not have any asada, and just a pile of cilantro. I had one that was completely normal. I had one that had only asada on it. The food was hot as one would expect, except the beans were ice cold. I don’t mean cooled down, I mean it was like they were in the fridge.
While I was eating my beans, I felt something in my mouth. I assumed it was a hair and pulled it out. It was a small circle of plastic. It looked like wrapping that would be around something like a sauce bottle. I’ve included a picture of it.
We’ve been to multiple locations and had great food and service. This location, absolutely not. We’ll still go to the others, but we’ll be avoiding the one in Jenison, especially after finding plastic...
