Living locally means I come here more than I'd like to freely admit.
Dishes I enjoy: Baja Chicken Tacos - marinated chicken bites wrapped in freshly made corn tortillas topped with an aioli and pickled onions. This dish is easy on the stomach and quick to eat. If you've got picky eaters or want something safe this is the one to go with.
Tamales - one or three, these bad boys are large and in charge ...and delicious. It's like a mini burrito made out of corn dough with a pork filling. It's topped with pickled onions, an aioli and pork bits. These are legit tamales, reminds of back home in Texas.
Mexican Flautas - most people will know these as taquitos. Rolled tacos stuffed with meat and fried until crispy. Comes with rice, beans, a small salad and a side of guacamole and sour cream.
Birria Enfrijoladas - The picture I included with this review. If you like braised short rib meat and corn tortillas topped with a creamy refried black bean sauce then this is the dish to try. It's pretty tasty.
Appitizers:
The guacamole, it's chunky and fresh.
Fiesta Dip is really good. A good comparison would be like that Velveeta Rotel dip with ground beef people make at home but this tastes way better. And try it with plantain chips it comes with. It sounds weird but you won't regret it (fried banana chips).
Fajita Nachos - no explanation needed.
Pros: Atmosphere is friendly Service is quick The prices are extremely reasonable comparing against fast food. You can order for pickup here and you get more bang for your buck.
Con that is also a Pro Personally, I feel like the portions are too big. We always end up having to take food home because it's just a lot. Take that for what it's worth it's just a personal observation.
In any event, try this place out. You won't be...
Read moreUpdated review after major changes. We use to love this place and it's the only one I would eat at. After considerable changes to prices and menu options I'm dropping my rating from a 5 to a 1. And the only reason it's a 1 is because we had a good server. The biggest shock and change is the price. I understand everything has gone up but it feels to the point of price gouging. There use to be 2 options for queso. Small and large and the large ran about 10$. Still a little on the high side but enough for at least 4 people. Now they only have the small bowl and it's 12$ and barely enough for 2 people to share. The price of my favorite dish went up by 4$ and for 3 people to eat was almost 80$ plus tip. I'm sorry to say but I think this will be the last visit from us and we went there at least a few times a month. We was wondering why the place looked empty at dinner time and now we know. You can't even make substitutions anymore. Like fries instead of rice and now you no longer get lettuce or guacamole for garnish unless you are willing to pay more. And even the amount of Pico and sour cream was minimal. I know a business needs to make money but with the amount they are charging it's not gonna last long. I couldn't even find a meal under 18$. For the amount we spent we could of went to a fine dining restaurant and had actual good food. If you go beware of sticker shock. And you are still expected to tip at...
Read moreI’ve been a loyal customer of this restaurant because I genuinely enjoy the food and have always supported the business — including consistently tipping well. But after being mistreated on more than one occasion, I feel compelled to speak up.
The first time I experienced an issue, my food was incorrect. When I called to address it, I was met with passive-aggressive and dismissive behavior from a male staff member over the phone. He was rude, condescending, and made me feel as though my concern — and my money — didn’t matter.
Today, I gave the restaurant another chance, hoping that it was just a one-off. Unfortunately, I was met with the same attitude again. Once more, I was treated like my patronage was insignificant. It’s deeply frustrating to support a business only to feel disregarded, especially as a paying customer who’s never been anything but respectful.
As a Black woman, this experience has left me feeling disrespected and dismissed in ways that feel racially charged and personal. I shouldn’t have to question whether I’m being treated unfairly because of who I am — and no one else should either.
I’m writing this review not out of malice, but because businesses need to be held accountable when they treat loyal customers with disregard. I hope this message encourages a reflection on how all customers — regardless of race — deserve to be treated with dignity...
