I recently had the pleasure of dining at Orient Express, located at 1039 Lexington Rd in Georgetown, Kentucky, and it exceeded all my expectations! If you're looking for authentic, flavorful Chinese food in a welcoming atmosphere, this is the place to go.
The restaurant itself is clean and inviting, with a friendly staff that makes you feel right at home as soon as you walk in. The menu offers a wide variety of classic Chinese dishes, and the portions are incredibly generous.
I ordered the Sesame Chicken, and it was hands down the best I’ve had in the area—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and coated in a perfectly balanced sauce that wasn’t too sweet or overpowering. I also tried the Hot and Sour Soup, which had a rich depth of flavor and the right amount of heat. The egg rolls were fresh and crispy, a perfect starter.
What sets Orient Express apart is not only the quality of the food but also the excellent service. The staff is attentive, making sure everything was perfect throughout the meal. Prices are very reasonable, especially for the portion sizes and quality of ingredients.
Whether you're stopping by for a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner, Orient Express is a must-visit for anyone in the Georgetown area. It’s a hidden gem that I can’t wait to...
Read moreThey gave us someone else's order. We thought they just forgot the soups we ordered. They made us go back, get the original order and return it. We did. This time, they forgot the fried rice. I went back to get it, she accused me of stealing it, said I didn't return the rice from the wrong meal they gave us. " I said, "Are you accusing me of stealing rice." She said, "Yes." Didn't give us our rice, in my view, didn't make their mistake right in any way, shape or form. I have been a nice, long time customer of theirs, suggested them to others. I am surprised and very disappointed. If it were my restaurant, I would have admitted the mistake, wouldn't have made the customer make several trips back home to make my mistake right, would not have accused my loyal customer of stealing, and would probably do something like a soft drink or something for their trouble. Just saying what I would do. How would you feel? The food's okay but in America, you gotta do...
Read moreI visited on 10/14/2017 via drive through. I can't speak for the interior of the building, so my review is based entirely on the food I received. The girl at the drive through window was polite and pleasant. I ordered the General Tso's Chicken and white rice for $8.99. I am very pleased with the amount of food I received for that amount, as I am feeling full and still have some leftover. The chicken was still hot even after I got home, and crispier than I have come to expect from the average Chinese food joint after soaking in the sauce. There was maybe one small clump of fried tempura batter without chicken, but that's below par for the course compared to other Chinese restaurants. The white rice was the right moisture, stickiness, and texture. The broccoli was crunchy and tender, tastes like it was steamed before being added to the sauce/dish, not microwaved or boiled.
Great food, decent price, fast service (I got my food less than 8 minutes...
