Atmosphere: Went to Belle & Lily's for Sunday brunch to celebrate a birthday on. We had a rather large party (party of 10). Please note, this restaurant is NOT suited for large parties. It has a very intimate sized layout. I originally made reservations for 6 (which is their max) but my headcount increased. The restaurant went above and beyond to accommodate my group even though they did not have to honor the increased headcount. We were able to sit in two groups of 5 (restaurant isn't that big so we weren't far from each other). There was a DJ spinning some tunes but it wasn't too loud so we could still hear each other and converse. It was a vibe!
Service: Service was great! Rochelle did an amazing job giving recommendations for food items (appetizers, drinks and entrees)! She kept checking in on us and made sure we had everything we needed.
Food: It took a while for our food to come out. The menu mentions Snapper but it's really Parrot Fish. I've never had Parrot fish but Rochelle claimed it's just the same just meatier. IT WAS AMAZING!! The mole sauce was a pleasant add as well. Rochelle was definitely right, it was much more meatier than Snapper. I also highly recommend the seafood (crab & shrimp) tostones! SO TASTY! Another crowd favorite was the Yahd wings. We didn't order those but Rochelle highly recommended them. Someone at our table ordered the pancakes. Those were yummy as well. Light and fluffy with an nice flavor. Another person ordered the Mix Green salad with hibiscus vinaigrette topped with jerk chicken and she said it was the best salad she's ever tasted! Everything complimented each other!
Drinks: My fav was the Zoe's Elixir (Elderflower, passion fruit, champagne, and orange zest)! I also tried the Belle's Essence (their version of a peach sangria) and it was ok. Not as sweet as the Elixir but very light refreshing taste. They also have some good flavors for mimosas.
Overall it was a great experience! I will definitely go back. If you have a larger party, you can check out their sister restaurants Ms...
Read moreVisited on a Sunday for brunch for father's day. We were checked in and seated. Our server, Fatima, came to the table and introduced herself. She was patient and able to answer all of our questions to help us make a decision. We ordered 3 bottled waters and the elixir mimosa, which was different but a nice, light flavor. We also ordered a chicken and cheese & spinach empanadas for our appetizer. We continued to look over the menu and asked our questions. We received our empanadas which were a good portion size. We preferred the sauce that came with the chicken empanada which had a little heat whereas ours was more of a vinegarette. It took them a while to come up with their entrees, lol, but in the end I settled on the Ital Vital with a side of bread, dad ordered the Rude Bwoi, and my sister ordered the Shrimp Kweyol with a side of grits. We also ordered the Hibiscus mimosa. We sat, talked, and drank while we waited for our food. Quite some time had passed by and we still hadn't received our food while some of the other tables had received theirs. Turns out there was a wifi issue which caused a huge delay. It would have been nice to know that. More than 30 minutes (at least) had passed and our food finally arrived. Rude Bwoi - snapper was smaller than we assumed and slightly overcooked. Flavor was good. Ital Vital - ackee and callaloo was really good and flavorful. The rice was slightly undercooked with little flavor. The side of bread was hard and stale. Shrimp Kweyol - cream sauce and shrimp were flavored well. The side of grits were way too salty and inedible. Hibiscus mimosa - needed a little sweetener which Fatima fixed by giving us a small serving of passionfruit to mix with it. I ordered the Big Batty Gyal to go for my husband. He said the chicken lacked flavor but the pancakes were cooked well and had a nice golden crust. Overall, food was ok. Service time could be improved. We enjoyed Fatima, she was very knowledgeable...
Read moreI'm so hot right now!! I just had my first and LAST experience with Belle and Lily's. Normally, I don't support restaurants that have lower than 4.5 ratings (you have to be so careful about where you eat), but I went against my better judgment and tried this spot anyhow.
I had a couple of errands to run out in Atlanta early this morning, so instead of driving back home, I decided to place an online order and visit Belle and Lily's first. (Neither Atlanta or this restaurant is near my home).I ordered two breakfast entrees as a surprise for my friends' anniversary. I got two confirmation messages--one from the order that I placed on the website and one in a text message--both stating that the food would be ready around 9AM. I got to the parking lot for Belle and Lily's just after 8AM. I waited in my car until 9:05AM, then proceeded to the doors of the restaurant. I pulled the handle, but the door was locked. When I looked inside, it was dark, but I figured that somebody had to be preparing the meals in the rear of the building. Also, my credit card payment had gone through. I called the business a couple of times, but nobody picked up the phone, so I went to the business next door to inquire of someone who may have been familiar with the restaurant. The woman next door said that she didn't think Belle & Lily's opened to the general public until 10AM, but she'd seen people come to get pickup orders much earlier than that. I went back to the restaurant to call and knock a few more times. I finally got fed up and called my credit card company to cancel my payment.
WHY would your establishment set up your services in such a way that potential customers waste their time, fuel and money?!! What...
