El Jinete is such a good Mexican Restaurant to go too not only because of the food and portions served but also because of the great staff and great services that they provide. Recently I was able to try this restaurant for the first time with my coworkers and trust me we were all amazed! The day we went was a Friday during lunch hour , of course we expected to wait a bit since we had heard it was a very popular restaurant and lunch hour is usually busy. We were wrong, there was no wait. The service was fast , right when we entered the host immediately asked us how many people were with us and got us a table. As soon as we sat down, they brought us chips and salsa, when we saw how the salsa was served we were surprised because we each had our own small individual container. This was because since right now COVID 19 is going around, nobody’s germs would be passed around. That for us was already something that we liked about the restaurant because it meant that they had in mind about the regulations and were respecting the guidelines needed. As we started looking through the menu we noticed all the different types of dishes that they had to offer, each dish had a description of what came with it. After ordering and getting our food the first thing I was able to notice was how big the portions of the food were! If you’re a person who likes to eat a lot then this is definitely your place because not only are there well served plates but the price itself is good for how much food they serve you! Another thing is how good the food looked and smelled , the presentation of the food was very neat which let us know that the cooks took their time with our food , didn't just throw it into a plate and send it out to the waiter. They gave out a good presentation. All my coworkers and I agreed that everything tasted great, we were all highly satisfied with what we each had ordered. I personally ordered a steak fajita quesadilla, something I really liked about this plate was how it was covered with cheese dip, it was something I had not seen done in a restaurant before. But just how I had mentioned before, the plates come in pretty big portions so my coworkers and I had to bring almost half of our food back home. Although I wouldn’t say this is the best authentic Mexican restaurant because in my opinion nothing beats you cooking at home, I can say this is definitely one of the best places in Snellville that I've tried. The food is delicious and the staff is definitely very attentive. Our waiter was good himself but multiple times we had other waiters walk by and ask us if there was anything else they could help us with. Everyone being super attentive made us realize how much they cared about their customer service. I also have to add in how clean the place looked. That to me is also very important because a clean place gives a better environment to eat at. I will definitely be back with my friends and family. I want them all to try how good this place is! I truly believe the 30 minute drive from my house is worth it as well! I definitely recommend it to you if you're the type of person who loves to eat at Mexican restaurants , the food and service will not...
Read moreEl Jinete is a good place to eat if you are looking for authentic Mexican cuisine. Their customer service is excellent, and the staff is very friendly. The menu has various options to choose from and at a good price. I think this is a good restaurant to go to because of the price, location, service, cleanliness, and environment. When you first walk into the restaurant you will see a counter to your right and a deer hunting game to your left. Next you will walk straight past the counter to get to the tables.
There is usually a long wait time, but there is a small waiting area, that fills
up quickly and you must wait outside. Waiting outside is kind of a problem because there are usually smokers.
The menu has a variety of dishes, and you can choose your own combination of items that you want. Most dishes come with 2 sides, refried beans with cheese, and Spanish rice. You also have a choice of beef, pork, or chicken for the meals. Some dishes come with sour cream and guacamole, and they go well with the meal. The service is great, and the food
is ready quickly even when packed with customers. The last time I went the service was very quick even though they were busy. When we got to the restaurant we sat in the waiting area, then our hostess led us to our table. After we were seated, our server got us started with some chips and salsa. The chips and salsa were good, the restaurant was clean, and the tables were disinfected before we sat down.
We had a few minutes to look over the menu before our server came back to get our order. We decided on the Chimichangas. When we got them, they asked if everything was okay.
Dinner wasn’t too expensive given the portions, it was $10 per person for dinner, so not too bad. Our server was great and was friendly and helpful, but not very attentive since they were busy that night.
The restaurant’s dim blue and yellow lighting suits its bar-like atmosphere. There are televisions along the wall that usually show sports because people like to go there for drinks and to watch the game. There are also speakers around the restaurant that play Spanish music, which suits the restaurant. The restaurant is not very big. There are tables and booths available to sit at. There are many televisions on the walls if you want to watch the game or grab a drink. The location of El Jinete is good as well since it is nearby. It is located on Centerville’ Highway in Snellville Georgia next to a nail shop and goodwill.
Overall this restaurant is great for those located in the Snellville area looking for quality Mexican food on a budget. The meat is fresh and the flavor is amazing. Although the wait time can be very long, the food makes...
Read moreI wanted to try this place out for my birthday dinner. We stopped by and were sat on the quiet side of the restaurant. Our server was efficient, but not friendly at all. I don’t know her name, but she was Server #15 on the night of 6/11/25. I didn’t even see her crack a smile once, and she was so fast that we felt rushed with everything she did. Our food was brought out very quickly, but the plates were practically dropped on the table. Immediately, our server came and asked how things looked, and before we could utter a word, it felt like she was already gone. The food was extremely expensive ($8 for a small cheese dip!!), and it wasn’t even that good! I also got a margarita and was pretty disappointed with the taste of it. My fiancé and I both finished our food, and we sat waiting on the check and boxes for at least 10 minutes while our server was talking to two other guests the entire time, smiling, laughing, and having a good ole time, but she could barely give us the time of day. When she brought our boxes and check, I had my card ready, but she said she’d come back, and then we sat and waited for another 5+ minutes. By the end of the night, I didn’t even have a chance to tell anyone it was my birthday so we could celebrate my dinner. I just wanted to leave as quickly as possible. Instead, we went down to Casa Bariachi in Cornelia, where they made a bomb mango margarita, and celebrated my birthday and treated me to a tequila shot! We won’t be returning to this place, but unfortunately, they have enough business not to care about my opinion. I just want to share to encourage others to try other Mexican restaurants...
