I go to Espresso's often and would really like to give them a 5 star review, but I can't right now. First the good; some of the very best brewed coffee around and probably the biggest reason for the 4 stars. Bagels...just great. No cheap mini pre-frozen bagels here. Fresh and huge. Most everything on the menu is good and a good value, with one exception; omelets. The cooking method used leaves the omelets tough and somewhat rubbery. The atmosphere is great. There are very few privately owned coffee shops up in this area that are as inviting as Espressos. Finally, prices are somewhat below average making Espressos a good value.
Now about that last star. My chief gripes are lack of places to plug in for power and hygiene. Very few tables have an available power outlet. On hygiene, there's just not enough staff/not properly trained staff to keep up with table bussing, with weekends being the biggest problem. Also, and maybe of more concern, is that occasionally the people bussing table and handling the register are also the same people preparing the food..and glove changes don't always happen between bussing and cooking when things get busy. Finally...hair. I'm pretty sure county health code requires personnel preparing food to cover their hair. If I'm wrong, I apologize.
None of my gripes however will keep me...
Read moreI tried this place because I like helping the little guys. The ones competing against Goliath like Starbucks. I happen to be in the area saw it and went and checked it out. Their special of the day was bagels and lox. Which happens to be my favorite.
On the outside sidewalk stand they announce their special. Then when you walk in to the counter there’s there special again. I said I’ll have the special. Note it’s 8 AM in the morning. They said we are out of Lox.
I’m thinking you’ve got to be kidding it’s on both your special boards for the day and it’s only 8 AM and you’re out?. So my bad luck or there’s it was very disappointing.
I seriously doubt there was a mad rush on bagels and lox that morning for them to be out so soon.
Then the next customer ordered something different and they said they were out of the main ingredient. So I don’t know if they had an inventory delivery problem that morning or the day before but they definitely had an issue.
Either way I made the best of it and had one of their smoothies a green something without the protein added. It was delicious.
The atmosphere was great quiet peaceful good music good atmosphere all the way around. The people were nice. Ill go back but they better have...
Read moreFrank, THANKS! We live nearby and have been here several times in the past and it was always great. This time was exceptional because it was our anniversary and I brought in roses impromptu and asked the gentleman who was working the front counter, Frank, if I called him back a little bit later if he would please set them out at a table to surprise my better half. He said sure, no problem! We came back about an hour and a half later and placed an order and then set down to the roses to her surprise. In regard to food and drink, we had the Westerner croissant which has scrambled eggs, bacon, cheese, and an absolutely phenomenal pico de gallo recipe. Huge portion and the best thing we've had here so far and hands down now our favorite breakfast sandwich. Also had a vanilla latte and it was just hot enough that you had to sip it but it did not scold your mouth. The music is also wonderful and is classic rock and an eclectic blend. Couple all of that with the great atmosphere and decor, great prices, and top quality food and coffees, and this place cannot be beat for any coffee shop / breakfast eatery. Definitely...
