First experience of this restaurant - it is located in the Bridgemill community. We have tried other 'golf community' restaurants in the area, and have heard good things about this one.
No problem getting a table at 7:30pm on a Saturday and the restaurant and bar was quite quiet (possibly because of other local events happening that evening). Tables, seating and atmosphere were what you would expect from this type of venue, although cloth napkins were a nice touch.
Saturday nights are Steak night it seems, so Steaks featured on a special menu as well as the standard A La Carte. We both ordered appetizer salads, and a steak from the menu - my partner ordered the 14oz dry aged ribeye, and I tried the 16oz bone in strip. Also on the menu a mammoth 42 oz Tomahawk which I would have loved to try but was just a step too far for my capacity. Steaks were served with a loaded baked potato, asparagus and sprouts with an au poivre sauce.
All the food was excellent, well prepared and the right temperature. I can say that this was one of the best steaks I've had in Georgia, and that includes many 'steak houses' at twice the price.
We started with a crisp Pinot Grigio, and went with the recommended pairing (a Cabernet) with the steaks. The pairing was masterful and exactly right.
Service was timely and accommodating, and the price was reasonable for this type of meal.
In short, I'd definitely recommend trying Featherstone's At Bridgemill, and we will certainly be returning.
A few things I'd change, if it was up to me. I hope these are taken as constructive criticisms.
We both thought the appetizer choice was somewhat limited, and that it could do with maybe four more choices. It was also not obvious from the menu that appetizer salads were an option as they are all listed as entree salads.
The Steak night menu definitely needs a smaller steak option, around the 8oz size, maybe a filet or a bone in filet?
I'm not totally sure what happened to the Au Poivre sauce, but neither of us thought we got any.
Finally, the baked potato was diminutive, and could have done with a little more loading.
These are all details however.
Bottom line, we enjoyed it....
Read moreUpdating my previous 5 star review after going there after remodeling. More has taken place since remodeling. The "remodeling" is bad - if they were trying to capture the environment of a cheap bar with no personality, then they knocked it out of the park... The focus was obviously on getting better views of the flat-screens. Then there is the food. Being honest, the food took a total nosedive. No more shredded pork nachos, and the overall quality of the food is severely lacking. The concern for the customer experience has shifted from being a clubhouse experience to something far less functional than a Taco-Mac. No standards in service and the staff dresses and act as they wish. The kitchen staff slings food that you would get in a high school cafeteria without remorse. The previous head chef; Faye, is gone and that is a whole other story. The end result is that the clubhouse staff/committee thought it is better to cater to heavily drinking mid-life crisis has beens than to create an atmosphere that pleases a family. You should be able to go here with your family whether you just wrapped 18 holes, finished 6 sets or if you want to take the family out for a nice dining experience that one would expect at a clubhouse in a subdivision of this size and average family income. Loads of potential - nearly 3000 homes where the majority would love to have a classy clubhouse they could enjoy, but I imagine the average opinion would parallel mine and they avoid it and take their money elsewhere. My wife and I used to go there nearly every Friday, but that will not happen anymore. My advice, save yourself the unpleasant experience and go to Taco Mac if you want better food and service. Go to Nuevos Amigos or B&B if you want even better service and food that is closer to the neighborhood and the staff cares about...
Read moreI had been here a few years ago and remembered the food was good. Decided to have dinner here the other night as we were in the area.
My wife and I were both in the mood for a steak, so I ordered a ribeye (medium rare), and she ordered a filet (medium well). I must say we both were very impressed with what we got. Both of us agree our meals were one of the best we have had in a long time.
I am an adamant medium rare man and my wife the same for medium well. They were both cooked exactly how we like them, which is not the norm for some restaurants nowadays. We even tried a bite of each others steak and both thought that the others was good as well (Which never happens because I refuse to eat a steak medium well/well done and she refuses to eat one medium rare/rare).
Clean and tasteful restaurant, polite and timely service, and a very memorable meal at a reasonable price.
We will definitely...
