A very tall employee at the bagel counter missed the food runner he was aiming at, and the tomato slice flew through the air, landed next to my foot, and some got on my shoe. That's how this visit to Goldberg's started at noon today on a busy Sunday. It's packed so people must like the restaurant. I asked for an everything bagel toasted with cream cheese, then I asked if they had cream cheese with "green onions, scallions or chives." She says "chives" so I say "toasted everything bagel with chive cream cheese" As I'm waiting for my bagel, my brother in law says they're out of hazelnut coffee and also out of regular coffee, and when he pointed that out, the young lady at the cash register said it'll be ready in a minute and 34 more seconds. My bagel is taking forever so I look around and notice that none of the employees on the bagel counter side look happy. One of them is banging herself on the head hard with her hand. Strange. So I look at the receipt and notice I've been charged a little over $1.30 for the bagel, about $1.50 for cream cheese and $2.00 for flavored cream cheese. When I asked the young lady at the bagel counter who served me, she said I should mention that at the front counter when I pay and they would take it off the bill. The bagel never arrives, and I'm sick of this place, so I go to pay for my brother in law's coffee. My brother in law goes to talk to the bagel counter, and the tall tomato thrower brings over the bagel in the bag that's the size of a grocery bag and mumbles an apology about running out of bags. I pay, walk to my car and unwrap my bagel. I eat almost half of it and notice no chive flavor so I opened it up and there was 1 green onion piece the size of a head of a match. Now I'm curious. I walk back in and show the young lady at the counter the other half (picture attached) 3 tiny flakes of green and I ask her. Is this the "chive cream cheese" that I was charged extra for? She casually says "it's all mixed together and that's just the way it is" So I walk out of there KNOWING why this place is to be avoided.

So I am truly heart broken to leave this place a poor review, because I really love their fresh bagel and I think one of the best in town . I come here almost every Saturday after workout to get my egg, cheese and tomato sandwich on plane bagel. My disappointment is in how they handle food at Togo, they wear latex gloves to keep the food clean and customers protected , however on numerous occasions I have noticed they ring you up with gloves in hand and with out changing gloves will also go and make the food. The glove is not to keep their hand clean, it is to prevent cross contamination. I really wish the Managment read this review and make discussion this with all employees . Gloves are cheap just change them every time you ring up before they go in the back to touch food. Simple and easy . I will update my review if I see a change . Not to mention they messed up on my simple order and put my sandwich on everything bagel -:(

I’ve been on an avocado, an egg and bagel kick the last few weeks and Addie my review here of Goldberg’s. Recently I tried 101 Bagel Cafe (posted now) and ordered the same thing that I ordered at Goldberg‘s for comparison. Clearly 101 bagel Café was overpriced but there were some positives. Goldberg’s was clean, friendly and well appointed when I walked in to place a to-go order. And it was super quick…maybe 1/2 the time I waited at the other place. Price was more in line with what someone would expect…around $8.50. The bagel was not a flavorful as 101 Bagel Cafe and seemed to lack the amount of avacado I was expecting but with the price, you can’t beat Goldberg’s for quick and easy. Overall, better experience than 101. Still on the hunt for a NYC bagel in East Cobb (with egg and Avacado) that knocks your socks off.

2 years ago I posted a review on Google (see below) that this location has the worst service ever! It hasn't changed! I don't believe it has anything to do with a "national labor shortage" as their multiple signs say. I totally understand being busy. But it takes almost no time to say "I'm so sorry I'll be with you in a minute" in any one of the 20 times you walked past our table without even acknowledging our presence. Long before the pandemic or labor shortages this restaurant showed they truly just don't care about offering good service. It's starkly contrasted with the Dunwoody location which has fantastic service. East Cobb seems to have this problem in many of the restaurants! The manager (I assume) left a response on another review site asking me to email him to resolve the problems. I did. Twice. I never heard back.

(Original review) Horrible service! I swore I’d never eat there again after the last time when it took forever to get our order in the restaurant and they didn’t seem to care. Against my better judgment I ordered delivery from them from DoorDash today. It took over an hour from the time I ordered for my food to be ready - the driver was there waiting for it for half an hour or more. And the restaurant has their phone going straight to voicemail - and voicemail box is full of course. They are overpriced as it is and their service and food quality are definitely...

Update - I am changing my score to 1 star after seeing they have failed their health inspection AGAIN. This place is disgusting, and you run the risk of getting sick if you eat here.

This place used to be great, but ever since they changed management, this Goldberg's has gone straight down hill.

It all begins with the foundation- take a look at their latest health inspection report. They received a C, with 1 category they are in violation of causing food borne illness. This isn't the 1st time they received a poor health score.

If you order to go from here, you are almost guaranteed to have part of your order missing or incorrect - so always check before you drive off. And speaking of to go, if you try to call them ahead of time to place a to go order, they NEVER pick up the phone. It doesn't matter if there's 50 people in the restaurant or 1, they refuse to pick up the phone.

All the hard working staff that used to work here has quit or been fired - they have been replaced by barely competent staff. I tried to order some pastrami sliced lean, and the guy taking my order had no idea what the word lean meant....I had to explain it to him.

It is a real shame they're letting this location go downhill. I love Goldbeg's, but I'm going to have a hard time giving this location any of my...
