My friend and I visited this place on a whim. It had been mentioned in a local food group so we thought why not try it out? It was a bit of a drive for us, about an hour. When we arrived we were the only customers at the time (around 2PMish on a Saturday). The location was a bit small and tucked away but I liked the vibes of the place. Everything is self serve- they had water and to-go containers sitting out. You order at the counter and then pick it up when they call your order. The person taking the order was nice and knowledgeable. We ordered the pork and cabbage dumplings as well as braised pork grandma noodles. The noodles came out first and it took a bit to get our dumplings. The noodles are labeled as spicy on the menu, which I was a bit worried about. It was interesting because the sauce for the dish wasn’t mixed in- you had to mix it yourself. It looked a little gross on top not mixed in but it ended up tasting really good. The complaint here was the bowl they give you is not big enough to mix it in. We ended up getting it all over the sides and it still wasn’t mixed super well. The top part was really spicy to the point where I had trouble eating it. I did ask before ordering if they could lower the spice at all but they said they can’t because that’s how they cook it. They assured me that “the dish needs spice to taste good.” However, the more we ate the less spicy it got. I think there was a puddle of sauce at the bottom that hadn’t been soaked in so that’s why the bottom was less spicy. We enjoyed the food so much that we ordered the same stuff again but to-go.
Now…the dumplings took way longer than they should’ve in my opinion. There was one other person in the restaurant now but I think it took 30-40 minutes after we ordered to get the dumplings. We ended up eating the noodles the next day and I think they absorbed all the sauce because they were so spicy it was hard to eat. Even my friend who likes spicy food had trouble finishing the dish when I had to tap out.
Overall I liked the restaurant and the food, just a couple small critiques. I will say if you are sensitive to spicy food like I am, make sure to eat your food the day of. If you wait, it will soak up the oils and you’ll probably have to throw away...

Went in for the first time the other night (and have already been back a 2nd time tonight) and loved everything we ordered.
Egg Drop soup: One of the best I’ve had, probably ever. Delicious corn flavor and I’m someone who typically doesn’t order egg drop soup.
Grandma Noodles: wow! So flavorful! Perfect amount of spice. I’ve had both the pork and the beef so far and haven’t been disappointed at all!
Dumplings: I’ve ordered 2 different types so far. The chicken, corn and water chestnut, and the chicken and shrimp dumplings. Both pan fried. Both excellent. Not overly breaded. Generous filling. Soft and tasty exterior and cooked perfectly. Goes amazing with the ginger sauce and the chili crunch that was provided. Will order dumplings EVERY time from here!
Lo Mein: I normally order pork Lo mein but I ordered beef since they don’t offer pork. It doesn’t taste overly greasy and the noodles aren’t over cooked like most places. Absolutely excellent.
This restaurant is extremely clean and welcoming. I have taken our food to go both times, but definitely wouldn’t mind eating inside of the restaurant.
If you’re looking for a giant extensive menu you might not get that here, but everything I’ve tried on the menu is absolutely excellent and QUALITY!
Amazing portions too! Def had leftovers both times!
I’ll be going back to Handmade Dumplings and Noodles again and again! I hope everyone gives this amazing...
Read moreUnassuming, unfussy spot in a strip mall, but a massively welcome addition to the area’s restaurant choices. East Cobb is a terrific place to live, but it’s plagued with high price, mid quality, low excitement chain food restaurants. Now we don’t have to drive to Doraville for some good Chinese food and have this gem in our backyard! The vegetarian options are especially good; bok choy, wood ear, & tofu skin dumplings are incredible! Get them in the chili oil for one of the best dumplings you’ll ever taste - spicy without being offensive and a marvelous, rich, cumin-y flavor. My wife and I’s favorite dish from here. The fried rice is typical, nothing unusual. However, the pickled pepper fried rice with tofu is delicious. My kid liked the Chinese burger; I thought it was just alright. The grandma vegetarian noodles have been my favorite entree so far. Dan Dan and Grandma with braised pork were very satisfying, as well. Egg rolls could use a little more moisture taken out of the filling, but they are much better than most I have had in the area. My father and grandfather both were masters when it comes to making a proper egg roll so I tend to be a bit more critical than most. My wife and I eat here at least once, sometimes twice a week, since they opened. Needless to say, I am a fan and food like this makes me feel...
