I'm going to just SAY it, because it needs to be said.
TIPS ARE OPTIONAL --NOT REQUIRED. WAITRESSES CHOOSE THIS CAREER PATH AND IF THEY DO NOT KNOW, I'M HERE TO TELL THEM. THIS IS A LOW PAYING JOB AND IT ----IS NOT---THE CUSTOMER'S RESPONSIBILITY TO PAY THEM A LIVEABLE WAGE. THAT IS THE EMPLOYER'S RESPONSIBILITY.
and...there it is. I said it.
Now, on to what happened. I learned about this place because a relative was nice enough to take me here for a late lunch. Yes, we got there during the $11.99 time. The food was good, I liked the buffet and the fruit and salad options. The food really was not the issue here--at least not for me. I was hooked and swore to myself that I would return and I did...
After that visit, the very next week, EVERY SINGLE DAY--I returned for lunch---Just to show how much effort I exerted into giving this place my business, I traveled from DOUGLASVILLE each and every day to eat here. I ate, enjoyed and paid my bill. I went during the lunch buffet special, so eating there 5 days cost me approx $43.00. I did NOT tip, because it's MY CHOICE and I didn't feel like I needed to give it after shelling out almost $50.00 to this place eating lunch here daily for a solid week. I felt that was significant enough...
My last visit there will be TODAY, 08/10/2023. After I ate, got my check and paid, signing the receipt, I used the restroom for my long journey back home. When I came out of the restroom, I asked a waitress for a to go cup of water. While I was waiting for it, the short waitress who wears her hair back in a ponytail who was working my section ---(mind you, she never came to my TABLE to clear plates, nor refill my drink even though she clearly was doing it with others in my section)---approached me and said I didn't sign my receipt. She opened the receipt book, and I pointed to show her that I did, in fact sign.
She then said "No---you leave no tip !". I politely explained to her that I did not have it (financially) to leave.
BUT WAIT ---THERE'S MORE ...
She THEN said to me in a VERY SNAPPY WAY --- "You didn't have it ALL LAST WEEK EITHER ???" Not feeling that I had to EXPLAIN MYSELF to anyone about what's in MY POCKET and what I can and cannot afford to do, I just responded with a simple answer....
I said no-- She then immediately made a remark to the other Chinese waitress in Chinese---dunno what they were saying, but I can almost bet it wasn't very nice and directed at me not leaving a tip. NOT a good impression when most of their customers are US Americans eating here and helping to keep this place open...
What I DID DO before I left was let the manager know that I ate there ALL LAST WEEK spending UPWARDS OF $43.00---which quite frankly is a BILL for me that I could have paid INSTEAD of using my gas to travel across town to eat here and that I DO NOT APPRECIATE being INTIMIDATED BY A WAITRESS just because I have the FREE RIGHT to LEAVE OR NOT LEAVE A TIP.
Whether the manager confronted her or not is unknown to me, because I left and didn't look back after they got a little piece of my mind. They have a lot of nerve and I made sure they knew it BEFORE I left.
If my soliciting their establishment to eat here DAILY FOR LUNCH is NOT ENOUGH, then I'll just eat at one of the many eating establishments that I PASSED on my way HERE next time and they won't get ANY of my money. One thing that Douglasville and Austell DO NOT lack in is fast food places and restaurants. There are PLENTY of options.. I DID NOT have to eat here.
These people need to work on their MANNERS...I don't care WHAT they have on the menu. It's their BEHAVIOR that needs to change. I'm not JUST paying for FOOD. I'm paying for GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. When I don't get it, I move on...Raise your standards. Too many places out here have food that's JUST AS GOOD if not BETTER and you won't get nastiness and pushiness from waitresses on top of it.
There's nothing AMAZING about rude customer service and pushy waitresses DEMANDING customers to pay MORE in TIPS on TOP of what they ALREADY PAID...
Read moreI have been to quite a few Chinese buffets, and this one hands down has never disappointed me, well, only one thing. They used to have 2 kinds of wings, 1 was deep fried and breaded, and the other was fried, but it had no breading and was marinated before being fried. The non breaded wing was my FAVORITE, and then they stopped putting it on the buffet and now only have the breaded wings, which are really good, but not as delicious and flavorful as the non breaded, other than that I enjoy everything they make. Flavors are always on point, hot, and fresh. Servers are attentive. Can't go wrong with anything there that I can say that wasn't good. Sushi is ok. I've had better, but the soups, seafood, meats, hot sides, and cold sides are always cooked and prepared perfectly. The desserts are mediocre, so I'd just go for their ice cream. All in all, it's honestly one of the best buffets I've had in a 30-mile ra. They also have great prices, and the selection is always plentiful. Sometimes, the servers can have an attitude due to the lack of people not watching their kids and just letting them run around being noisy and sometimes wreckless, as well as some EXTREMELY messy non tipping tables to clean, but who wouldn't be annoyed after awhile. I know I get that way when i see that happening. I've been going there for about 2 yrs now and never had a food issue. So I...
Read moreI used to live in cobb for years. I came here thinking it was just as it was before the pandemic. Absolutely not. Customer service...lol that was definitely not the case. As soon as I got my first plate I advised my waitress that the food was extremely cold. The place was not busy at all so I guess that is there methodology, turn the burners down low to prevent from having to switch out the food. That doesn't make the food taste fresh though! I was in this place for 25 minutes and spent 70 dollars. This is a complete rip off from what it used to be...extremely sad. I will never visit this place again. I will be reaching out further to figure our what can be done here with the food serving temperature.
I spoke to the individual at the front desk and advised them of this and they had nothing to say. They did nothing. This place should have a microwave to be able to heat up your food once you take it off the line.
There was so much food under my table from the previous party is was ridiculous. Please do not go to this location if you would like a good hibachi buffet experience there are other places with much better customer service. Cleanliness is put the window.
Thanks for the lack...
