06/17/2023: Horrible. Saturday Night, 6PM, Only 40 Percent of Capacity. Took almost an hour to receive simple BUT EXPENSIVE orders for four people. Nephew 1: 30 years Army. Said Army Barracks Spaghetti was better. Veal was eatable, never finished meal. Nephew 2: Portobello Mushroom Plate was HEAVY in Cheese when Expecting an Alfredo Sauce but Salty,, never finished meal. My Wife could not eat heavy Salted Gluten Free Pasta, never finished meal. My Gyro Plate was so Salty and Tough, never finished. Wanted almost $20 for Gyro Salad. When leaving I ordered a piece of GLUTEN FREE White Chocolate Raspberry CHEESE Cake for my Wife. My wife heard me tell the girl THREE times, No, the Cheesecake. Home 40 minutes later and we have Gluten Cake. Maintenance Inside and Out has gone to Hell. Filthy HVAC Registers. Cleaning supplies just laying around. If they are not cleaning the registers daily they are not cleaning the Kitchen daily. We saw the filth in these registers...No, we won't be back again. Needs major Facelift. We 02/14/2023: 1: George Sr., The family / owners were Greek. We knew what we were coming for and were Extremely Pleased. A Lemon Chicken Soup and Slice of White Chocolate Raspberry Cheese Cake for home and a Personal Pepperoni Pizza for wife's sister in nearby nursing home. We also took home more than half the Gyro Sandwich and GF Pasta. $53.80 plus $10 Tip. Little else on huge menu most can afford but once a year. Prices have increased 3X. Pure Super Greed from these Guys. Food Network and Guy Ferrari don't justify that mark up. Daily special sheet is in photos. Most people I saw this evening were like us, ordering from the few $9.85 to $14.95 items But all of those options were Good. Soft drinks are $3.45, No diet caffeine free so we bring our own or like everyone else, order ice water. On menu: Sharing a Plate is $3.95 but you get an extra salad. No Take Out From Kids Menu. NOW the POSITIVES. 1: Call ahead and make sure the Lemon Chicken Soup is on the menu that day even if ordering additional to go. My wife and I will never be the family to order the $30 to $49.95 dishes so we have no idea about them. For decades these two restaurants used to be a four times a week visit but since they amplified the prices for the same food with such greed they are now a one time a year visit. We're not alone. No excuse for the severe price gouging. Major profit is made on turns, not gouging. 02:14:2022: Fantastic as always. Decades ago George Sr. Let me know the Family Is Greek NOT Italian. Born in the WWII Era. (Remember your history: Mussolini chose to aliance with Hitler. Greece Resistance chose the Allied Forces.) Good to know they're Greek Before you call them Italian. Pictures to follow. Atmosphere of Pasta Bella any time piping Sinatra and Speak Easy music. White Choclate Rasberry Macadamia Cheese Cake. House Salad. Gluten Free Penne-Angel Hair Pasta...
Read moreHonestly, I can tell why people like it, but I probably won’t come back again. It had always been right down the street from my apartment but there are many things I did not like.
I understand that people love large portions, which pasta Bella has, but for me, the quality is more important than quantity. There is an obvious trade off in quality to meet volume and maybe to stay at a certain price point.
The garlic knots were stale and doughy. My husband enjoyed them, but I didn’t.
The sausage soup was seasoned well but the sausage was of poorer quality. But hey, it’s free with every meal, what can you expect, right?
The crab bisque was flavored well, but it gave off the impression of being thickened with flour and get this they used imitation crab. And catch this, it was still my favorite thing I had there.
I fear most Caesar salads at restaurants because you can tell when the dressing is made in house or if it is premade. I fear the worst with Pasta Bella, I only took one or two bites. The croutons were good. But also, I just wasn’t in the mood for cold food.
I ordered the soup and salad on the waiters recommendation.
Service is good.
My husband and I ordered the tour of Italy for two. In my opinion, in flavor, it was underwhelming but overwhelming in terms of portion size. It was all served to us on one silver platter.
Parmesan chicken- it was good. Well seasoned.flavorful. Juicy. My husband completely disagrees and does not want to touch it.
Fettuccine Alfredo- tons of it, and all very bland. Lacking salt.Lots of butter and milk but not enough cheese(probably cutting corners to save money). For leftovers tonight, I will season it and add more cheese.
Manicotti- I may be biased because I don’t like ricotta, but bland and a waste of space. My husband enjoyed it very much.
Lasagna- the beef tasted like it was old or it had been cooked forever. Not enough salt. My husband liked it.
I am a home cook with a pretty developed palette. So when I go out to eat I at least like to eat to a quality that I can’t otherwise accomplish with my own skill and resources. Suffice to say, I’m sure that I could do better than what I experienced.
It’s good if you’re not picky. The service is good. And It’s comfortable. That’s why I gave it three stars. But if you care mostly about the food then it’s really two stars. I would be willing to pay $10-20 more if they invested more in the quality of their food instead of volume. Who really needs all that food anyway. My husband and I had a ton of leftovers.
Bought the California cake. Looks beautiful, but It is very much okay. Nothing to be missed. They gave me a HUGE slice. Tastes like a store...
Read moreWas really excited to eat here.... We were rudely greeted and seated across from the entry way to the kitchen, where they slam the dirty dishes into bus tubs. Fun! So 10 min later a snarky waiter took our drink orders and brought very dry brown rolls and a bowl of something he didn't bother to explain, turns out its left over cut up sausage from the day before in a tomato sauce with bug chunks of bell pepper and tomato in it. Its meant to be eaten with the bread! Ok, on to ordering dinner.
I ordered ------ EGGPLANT NAPOLITANO ...... 18.95 Fried eggplant stacked over grilled tomatoes, portobello mushrooms, roasted red peppers, fresh basil and goat cheese. Topped with a creamy rosatella sauce over angel hair pasta.
Got the Greek Salad with my meal and that was oddly weird for a salad. Dressing was not good at all. Batting 1000 here so far!
I lifted up the eggplant and the tomato was not cooked and it was COLD, tasted the sauce knew right away this was not just alfredo and marinara. Took 5 min to get the snarky waiters attention to tell him this meal was not was was described. He removed it and I re-ordered. Meanwhile my husband was still eating his meal. Which I told him to so it wouldn't get cold.
His was not nearly as bad as mine, it did lack flavor! Artichokes were just thrown on top and were not even warn. CHICKEN PASTA BELLA ............... 21.95 Boneless breast of chicken sautéed with fresh basil, sundried tomatoes, artichokes, mushrooms & roasted garlic in a light white wine and lemon butter sauce w/ pasta.
We ordered a dish to go, our Daughter had been here before and wanted the EGGPLANT NAPOLITANO. I figured she liked it since she had it before. Snarky waiter brings it out, no rolls, napkins or plastic ware. Had to ask him twice.
All in all we didn't have a nice time as to the snarky waiter, the dishes crashing into the bus tub, servers yelling each time they came out of the kitchen and most of all the HORRIBLE FOOD!!!
We will...
