My first time trying this place after hearing about it for years. The food was good and nicely seasoned. Had the catfish and shrimp platter. It came with a ton of fries. That's the good. Now for the bad... This place is next door to a barbershop that has a lot of shady people hanging outside. I didn't have a problem but my girlfriend has said she also always wanted to try this place but was scared to go in because of the dudes hanging outside. She came in with me and was impressed with the menu and prices. She didnt get anything but I told her whenever she wants something from here I'll go with her to make her feel safe. Probably not much Austell Seafood can do about that.

I tried to call in my order so it would be ready when I got there. A lady answered and placed me on hold. I can hear everything in the background as I'm on hold. I hear her taking and order. Then I hear her talking to someone about her migraine. Now I'm thinking she forgot me on the phone. Then I hear another phone ring and a guy answers and their order is being taken. So I know she forgot me on the phone or just didn't care. I hung up and tried 5x to call back and no answer. So I'm wondering if they have caller ID and are upset I hung up or something. I have another businesses phone and I call them from that phone to see if they answer a different number and the lady answers on the first ring. Crazy way of running a business. I would give 5 stars if it weren't for the...

Honestly me and my roommates go here probably once a week. At first based off location and the surrounding buildings, you think it’s gonna be some rinky dinky restaurant right? You ask yourself should I be buying seafood from a strip mall? At this place- absolutely! Never had any bad food here, we’ve tried crawfish, snow crab, shrimp, blue crab, and their stuffed crab is absolutely phenomenal. We completely stopped going to places like tasty crab and juicy crab, because the prices are so expensive there and they don’t even care about the right seasons to keep the appropriate seafood in stock. You could get a decent meal here for like $15 but between me and my roommate we spend around $50, there’s just too many good options. Everything is seasoned perfectly and even the sides are perfect- we would recommend the hush puppies the most and obviously the meals include potato’s and corn with it, but surprisingly their broccoli was an interesting add on we didn’t know we needed. These guys even have their own line of sauces that are top tier. Best of all is the sweetest lady in the world at the front counter, who gave my friend a free slice of lemon pound cake on her birthday (it was also incredible and tasted freshly made). Go to this restaurant and support their business, there’s no excuse not to if you live...

This was by far the worst “seafood market” that I’ve been to. The food is overpriced and they charge for every thing. First and last time going to this place. We spent $70 and ordered 2 red snappers and one catfish with shrimp, hush puppies and lobster rolls. Now let me back up, this is supposed to be a seafood market. Right off the bat, when I walked in I was suspicious of the fish. You know all fish markets I’ve been to have the fresh fish with the heads on ice and you can pick your fish. They had fish already processed, cut, and packaged. No whole fish and I was like WTH. Long story short, your fish comes with 2 sides: I picked fries and Cole slaw. When I tell you ny coleslaw came in a 2 ounce plastic container like you would put ketchup in. The other sides were hush puppies, fries, corn, potato salad, fried okra ($1.99 extra)! Lastly the red snapper was not red snapper. Red snapper is flaky not meaty so the fish we got was so thick and we eat red snapper enough to know the taste and appearance. They will sell you anything because they think people won’t know the difference. All of us ended up throwing away most of the food. Hush puppies were so thick seemed kind of gooey in middle. I took picture of the tiny coleslaw I received. We took an ‘L’...

Came in early afternoon on a Saturday around 1:40pm. It was only one other customer in there at the time. I ordered once then when back about 15 minutes later to order more food. Overall, it took about 40 minutes to get my order. There were at least two other customers who had catering size orders to pick up and about 4 other customers who received their food in the meantime. The food was bagged individually and tied tight. I ordered 1lb crawfish, 1lb shrimp, 1lb turkey necks and the Cajun pasta. Food was mediocre; pasta was dry, crawfish taste like it came out freezer section and was dusted with seasoning, turkey necks liked flavor. The only thing I’d probably order again, if I return, is the shrimp. Services wasn’t bad. The cashier was friendly and gave recommendations. There was an older guy at the counter when I first walked in, he didn’t greet me, which was rude but I still decided to order.

I went to Austell Seafood Market 4 days ago and as usual, I loved the seafood! I used to live in the area and made it a point to stop in. I live an hour away but made sure I brought 2 Takeout dinners home. No place to dine in, so count on Takeout. They cook the food when you order, so it is best to call in first so there is no wait. Menu is reasonable price-$11.99, $14.99 and there are family packs. You can get fried fish, broiled and even King Crab legs that are only $7.99 per pound! The King Crab legs are kept frozen on ice right in front of you, so you pick which legs you want. Also some other types of fresh fish on ice. so you can see what you're getting. You get tartar sauce and shrimp sauce. Many types of fish with 2 sides. They also give you broccoli with your dinner as an extra. The next time I'm in Austell, I will do it again when I'm in Austell.

Local spot sells fresh fish, and for a charge of $2 a pound they will also fry it for you on the spot. They also have an extensive menu of their sea food platters and low country boils you can choose from. On top for the non sea food friends they have chicken wings you can buy. Basically a great spot for either fresh or cooked sea food with some additions to the menu. Definitely worth checking out. I have had their low country boil which was pretty good too, next time tho I’ll buy the crawfish and crabs to cook it at home so I can have the flavors I want.
