Juci Jerk — Restaurant in Georgia

This review may help some people because it’s true, some may have a different experience but I doubt it varies much and at some point they go through what I have. Especially loyal customers.

This place has very good chicken and very poor service. I doubt that they even care about anything besides getting their money. I would travel from another part of town to get something from here because it’s good but lately the service has been very bad.

They always tell you your food will be ready in a few minutes and it normally takes between 20-50 minutes for them to get your food ready. Every time I call in they lie about how long it’s going to take just to get you in the door, then they make you pay and you end up waiting another 10-20 minutes after calling about a half hour ago. That’s an hour, that’s ridiculous ...it’s chicken. If I call in for an order and you give me a time to be there then it’s reasonable for me to expect what you said to be true.

If YOU want to wait in an 8x10 room with no restroom for 20-50 minutes be my guest. I’m not doing it. The place is tiny, there are about 6 chairs but you’re guaranteed to have somebody standing on top of you or breathing down your neck. With all due respect, in a good way this is a true hole in the wall... meaning you wouldn’t expect to get such a great experience out of such a minimal or mediocre looking place.

Another thing is Attitude, I carry myself and treat Others with respect so it’s weird when you don’t get any(respect) especially when you’re spending money( for years). Word of advice, why don’t you put people behind the counter that actually want to be there, all I’m trying to do is get some chicken, not walk into somebody’s bad day or bad life or whatever the reason Is for their poor attitude. You don’t have to greet me with smiles but don’t shift your bad energy on to me please. If you’re angry all the time go hide somewhere nobody wants to experience your negative spirit.

The chicken is good, that’s no doubt. But I prefer good service with a positive attitude over a good product almost every time. You can’t be mean to me and take my money, I feel like I’m getting mugged haha.

I’ll change my whole review as soon as service gets better. I was thinking about not coming back and I’m sure you wouldn’t care, but the best costumers are the ones that repeat frequently, you want to retain people like us. The ones that send everybody they know to you, the ones that come to you when a jerk spot is right next door. This ain’t personal, it’s business, strictly business.

I placed an order with Juci Jerk through the ChowNow app after multiple failed attempts to reach the restaurant by phone. No one ever answered, which was frustrating, especially since I had a few questions before placing a fairly large order for my family. We live in McDonough, about 50 minutes to an hour away, and decided to give Juci Jerk a try based on some buzz we saw online, including positive mentions from Keith Lee and other influencers. We figured it would be worth the drive for something different as we kicked off our Father’s Day weekend.

Pickup was scheduled for 4 PM. I arrived after 5 because I had a lot going on plus traffic. I’ll admit—my mistake was not double-checking everything before leaving. I was in a hurry and didn’t realize until I got all the way home that we were missing one meal: a large salmon plate.

I immediately tried calling the restaurant again to report the issue, but still couldn’t get anyone to answer the phone. I even looked for other ways to contact them because I didn’t mind driving back to pick it up—I just wanted the food I paid for. Still, nothing.

I ended up contacting ChowNow for help, and even they said they couldn’t get in touch with anyone at the restaurant. They told me they would try via email. Eventually, they got a response saying an employee at Juci Jerk claimed they showed me the salmon plate and gave it to me and that no refund would be given. That’s simply not true. Thinking back I recall being shown the shrimp and jerk chicken plates, but not the salmon. Again, I take responsibility for not verifying on the spot—but I shouldn’t have to pay for something I never received. I for sure have no reason to lie either.

As for the food: Overall, it was decent. I had the shrimp, rice and peas, cabbage, mac and cheese, and jerk chicken. The jerk chicken was juicy, flavorful, and definitely not dry—major props there. The shrimp was excellent and a highlight of the meal. The cabbage was on the soft side, but that comes down to personal preference—my family tends to like it a bit more firm and steamed. The mac and cheese was okay—not bad, not amazing. The kids liked it, though!

If I ever go back, it would be for the shrimp or jerk chicken. But honestly, the lack of communication and the way the missing meal was handled left a bad taste in my mouth—no pun intended. For a spot that’s getting this much attention, customer service...

First the building is clean, small and no dine in option but no worries. I just want my food and go lol. Customer service mediocre but definitely not bad. Parking not alot but enough.

Food: 8/10 The flavor is unmatched! Its the dry pieces for me some of it is dried out and hard to chew so I tend to throw some of that away. Then some of it is extremely moist and very yummy and flavorful. I really like it. Serving sizes are great and I love how they chop it up.

8/10 Ribs are flavorful and just like the chicken I love the jerk chard taste so good! My rinds weren't meaty alot of bone but it tasted great and no sauce required. I add sauce to the food because I love there sauces. Rib has the right amount of chew and moist texture.

7/10 rice and peas are very basic but their decent and they give you plenty for sure. Not alot peas in them though.

10/10 The cabbage for the win! The right amount of crush texture not to soggy. Nice flavor with veggies throughout which i like alot. Corn green beans, and peas. They don't give you alot with the meal. Ill probably have to add a small one my next visit.

10/10 gravy a little different than gravy but yummy. Its like combination of there sauces I think. Spicy sauce is a win in my house and I love the mild one. Like a sweet bbq sauce

Definitely had enough to meal prep for 2 days and I ate some. So I ate off this plate 3xs. I dont eat alot so to each there own. Im considering getting a whole chicken for my meal preps from time to time.
