Terrible experience!! Extremely bad service and horribly rude bartender last night.
Had some drinks with friend at the bar. He had already ordered and received food to dine in, by the time I placed my to-go order. . After i order, about 10-15 minutes later i can see the kitchen bring out a to-go order and sit it on the bar. I thought it could possibly be mine but wasn't sure. Bartender walks past it several times so i thought there was no way it was mine.
About another 20 minutes passes and my friend is finished eating his dine in meal, so we both ask for our checks. Only when i ask for my check does the bartender look at the to go order that had been sitting untouched for 20 minutes does she look at it, realize it was mine then gives it to me. I was upset and shocked and was thinking out loud and said "my food had been sitting there all this time and I'm just NOW getting it?! It's been there for like 20 minutes!" she says "are you serious?" and i was under the impression she was surprised at the facts in my statemen and was on my side but later I learn differently... I reply "yeah, it's been in my direct field of view this whole time, it's just been sitting there". She walks by and mumbles some excuses like "nobody told me" and also "i didn't give you your food because i didn't want to crowd your area".... runs my card, gives me my cold food and receipt then says "here u go and DON'T YOU EVER TALK TO ME LIKE THAT IN MY BAR AGAIN!" now I'm just flabbergasted. I didn't berate her, i didn't insult her, i didn't say anything offensive, all i did was blurt out my initial reaction to the situation of the terrible service. Then she is rude at the end like i did something offensive. It was then i realize her "are you serious?" remark was in response as if in her mind i was out of line or overreacting... Terrible...
Read moreIt had been nearly a decade since our last visit to Laseter’s Tavern. We had good memories about their food (those yummy crispy wings!!). It’s nice to see after many years, this business is still going strong, and still stands after the (years long of) COVID pandemic gathering and health restrictions.
Laseter’s is still the gathering spot for all West Virginia Mountaineers games. They are the host to the West Virginia Peach State Alumni Association. It’s nice to see there is a hangout spot in the Atlanta area for all West Virginia Alumni or fans. Being an Atlantan, I’m proud to see we have this diversity here!
This time we only had time to get some food to-go. We ordered ahead online around 9pm on a Friday evening (they have their own online ordering system - no jacking up the price!). It showed the food would be ready in 20 minutes (10 pc wings, $13). We arrived about 10 minutes after the order was placed thinking we would hang out by the bar to wait for the food. This place was still ~60% full. As soon as we walked toward the bar, we saw a to-go order being brought out from the kitchen. Indeed, that was our food!
After nearly a decade since our last visit, their jumbo wings, were still gooood! Crispy and seasoned just right! Although not cheap, they delivered on their promise! We were very satisfied! We are in full agreement with one of their Facebook statements: “We're Vinings' best kept secret! With the best wings in town!"
They have other food specials and many menu item prices are pretty reasonable (We saw they had on a chalkboard right outside the front entrance advertising fish and chips for $9.50). We can’t wait to return and dine-in and enjoy more of their super crispy and delicious wings! 10/10 would recommend this place to anyone looking for a tavern...
Read moreWe just got banned from our favorite spot, by a waitress so incompetent we had to get our own napkins and silverware. But this review isn't about tonight's visit, it's about a previous visit.
This previous visit, over 9 months ago - we received less than bad service, we received no service. Before I continue please consider we were in here no less than every couple weeks for years now... Moving on... This no service visit 9 months ago, we placed our order and waited. And waited, and waited, and waited. Literally never even brought us our drinks. Granted, we're in here all the time (9 visits in the last 6 months, twice this week alone) so we don't need menus, we place our entire order at one time. But on this visit, we were waiting for over 20 minutes and didn't even get our drinks. So we left. We didn't get anything, so why should we pay anything?
That brings us to tonight, we didn't recognize the waitress. We just thought she was an air head... no big deal... But no, she was the same bad waitress from before and she's now demanding we pay for food and drink we never received because she claims management made her pay for our walkout. (Management confirmed that is their policy) Ok, two things. 1. We didn't walk out on anything, literally received nothing and left. 2. A waitress should never be forced to pay for a walkout. (don't worry, we'll report to the labor board for you. **In Georgia, it is illegal for restaurants to deduct money from a waiter's wages to cover a customer's walkout)
So that's it. One horrible waitress blew up our favorite spot and then...
