I made reservations on a Friday night at 6:15 for my 87-year-old father's birthday. I made sure the staff was aware of this. First off there is no handicap entrance so just getting into the restaurant was a challenge for my dad as he uses a walker. Once we managed to get in we were seated quickly but it was a very tight fit. I have no idea what was going on in the restaurant but it sounded like there was a jackhammer going off in the kitchen the entire meal. It was impossible to have any kind of a conversation and the waiter apologized once, gave no explanation and said that the noise would stop but it never did. Bread was placed on the table but we were never offered anymore of it. Next for reasons that were never explained the scallops were unavailable. My dad ordered a Caesar salad and the fettuccine. The salad was fine but the fettuccine sauce was runny and not very good. I ordered the insalata caprese and the veal adriano. Again the caprese was okay but the veal was overcooked, too salty, not enough sauce, and placed on top of a pile of pasta that tasted like it had been soaking in grease all day. The pasta was also cold. Other than the salt the dish was completely tasteless. Our waiter was inattentive and had to be chased down for everything. As an added bonus even though it was impossible to hear anyone say anything because of the jackhammer noise in the kitchen the restaurant decided that turning up the music would help. When it came time to get to the dessert we decided on the tiramisu which was average as far as tiramisu goes but even though I told the staff three times we were celebrating a birthday we didn't even get so much as a candle and the dessert wasn't comped. We weren't offered any kind of compensation for the miserable atmosphere. My father's birthday was ruined and the entire evening was just awful thanks to bad food, bad service, and an incredibly loud atmosphere. No one bothered to apologize or offer anything for any of this. I won't be returning and I regret not choosing Mezza Luna for our...
Read moreHorrible customer service!!
I need to start by saying that we have been regulars at Crispina four nearly 4 years dining there two to three times per month. We have just experienced one of the worst customer experiences I have ever seen at any restaurant ever! We were having an issue placing our order because they were out of one of the items that we wanted and instead of taking care of us, the totally unprofessional manager decided it would be better to sit there and argue with us about why he could not take care of us as customers. I was so taken back and furious with the way that I was treated by this manager, that our party of four just walked out and left. To make things worse he followed us out into the parking lot making an entire scene about why he was not able to take care of us. This was absolutely a horrible way to treat regular customers!! We will never set foot in your restaurant again and recommend others take the same advice.
Aside from the horrible way that we were treated, let’s talk about the food quality declining over the past few years. The grilled octopus which used to be fabulous is now terrible and I could not even order it again. Also the veal adrianna which is their signature dish is getting very tired and not made with the same care as it was initially. This really affects the quality of the dish. The chicken cacciatore it’s so tasteless it is almost not even edible. I would never even order that again.
Do yourself a favor and find a restaurant where they actually respect their customers.

Read moreDo people not know how to cook food for themselves?? On their menu it says angel hair pasta for spaghetti and meat balls, it came out 4-5 min after we ordered and we told the server we'd split it 'cause who needs 10lbs of pasta right? Well the spaghetti was not even close to the "angel hair" like the online menu said.. I usually cook thin spaghetti at home on rare occasion that I'm not busy working and that seems like more than thick enough spaghetti. This was like the Lou Ferrigno/Arnold Schwarzenegger of spaghetti.. super spaghetti on steroids. I was surprised by all the good reviews, the service wasn't as terrible as most places but definitely wasn't great (2-3 stars), I feel like sometimes bad services is due to sharing an order (which sucks since I don't want to spend almost $40 for 2 pastas alone so 1 pasta plus 2 cocktails at $36 w/ tip included is enough). They could do much better with having warm bread or some kind italian seasoning or pepper on the table to accompany the olive oil and salt that are the only seasonings on the table. I would've enjoyed another round of drinks if the (shared) pasta wasn't so filling. I understand the server isn't going to want to work super hard for a shared meal but we both agreed that this wasn't a great value, taste, or experience, even while shared. Neither of us have had spaghetti that thick before, it was definitely unexpected. I had to talk my date out of a guilt to-go box as to not waste the box since I knew we would...
