We ordered to start a pimento cheese flat bread to share. That thing was good. Soft dough, delicious bacon and sweet pimento cheese with arugula on top. All tasted good together, but it was the size on my hand. Great taste, such a small amount. Although it comes from the small plates section, it should be from the kids menu in size. We got the following plates. I the foir gras burger, father the pork stroganoff, and mother a Philly cheese with chicken and bacon from the waitress suggestions. My foir gras burger was quite delicious. It was juicy, it was savory, and it was messy. They say candied bacon foir gras, but that thing was just a regular slice of it, nothing special but still tasted great. The truffle Mayo on it was good, but I could barely taste it, so it's there but almost nonexistent. It was an overall good burger, would eat it again, however the price performance for it, is not worth it to me. Now, this is where the farm to table concept is a joke to me. The pork stroganoff, where do I start. I tried it from my father plate, and I can say it tasted like a cream base with gnocchi and little cubes of ham in it. Although it was good, I can throw some cream, paprika, and ham cubes with gnocchi, mix it all up and get the same dish. Nothing special about it and certainly not worth the price tag. Now, this is where I wanted to just get up and leave from the place. The Philly cheese my mother order was the most bland, cold, underwhelming, uninspired, piece of bread with cheese and chicken I've tasted my whole life. It makes subway food taste like a five star meal. No joke, the bell peppers, the onions, the mushrooms, the chicken and even the bacon (!) Tasted like black pepper. That is what the food tasted like. You couldn't taste a single thing besides black pepper. There was almost to no cheese what so ever either. That sandwich made me angry, it made me also sad, due to knowing someone could actually mess up a sandwich like that. It was so bad, my mother couldn't finish, and she said dog food may taste better - my mother has never said such thing before. So after such a let down of a meal that we have heard so many good things about, it was time for the bill. It took over 20 minutes to get after we asked for it. It was a single waitress, the same that gave the suggestion about the sandwich, FYI. Not commenting on her performance, but on food suggestion she gets a F. We got the bill, and this is where I absolutely believe that F2T is all a hype. With the exception of the flat bread and my burger, everything else was mediocre or awful at best. However, seeing the price that it all came to be at the end, I can say it's just not worth it. With hit or miss plates, negligible service, menus that change to sustain F2T that aren't that good, I can say from my experience that the price performance of it is not worth my time and money. I will take a meal at a place that uses regular sourced food, that tastes many times better, with a fraction of the price any day. TL;DR: underwhelming service, worst Philly cheese with chicken ever eaten, high price and low performance....
Read moreWe heard great things about this place so decided to check it out. Friday night, 7pm, patio was about half full yet for some reason it took 20 minutes for us to be greeted by our server and order drinks. They didn't take terribly long to come, but our water cups remained empty for another 10 minutes after we got our drinks. After almost an hour of being there, our food came out and just in time because we were ready to pay and leave without eating. That's how frustrated we were. We had to ask for water refills, were never offered a second drink (I could've had three old fashioneds in the time it took to get food). When I told the manager this was a terrible experience he finally offered that they were short staffed and running behind. That would've been great information to have when we were sat at least to get some context into what's going on. The manage was nice enough, apologized and said he'd "take care of it". When he came back and said it was taken care of, l opened the check to see there was $100 taken off the bill which was very appreciated. Unfortunately, when I opened the app to pay, I saw that the amount comped was reduced to $50. Overall, even only eating for $100 was not worth our time. We saw our server maybe 3 times when she asked to clear our drink cups, didn't bother to offer another round. All the great things we heard about this place, it definitely didn't live up to the hype. Even if you're short staffed, perhaps a better option is to not open sections or go on a wait so that folks don't expect to be served the moment they're sat. I'd rather wait to be seated than sit at the table with no service. And at minimum, let us know when we sit down that it's going to be slow service and offer some apps, drinks, anything. Missed...
Read moreMy husband and I visited Muss & Turner’s to celebrate our 10-year couple-versary (we’ll be celebrating our 5-year wedding anniversary later this year). Upon arrival, the hostess was kind and even wished us a happy anniversary, which was a thoughtful touch. We ordered the burger with fries for me and the French toast with grits, eggs, and bacon for my husband. The food itself was good overall. However, our experience was significantly impacted by poor service. Our server, Maria, unfortunately did not provide the level of attention or care we expected. She only visited our table once before we had even tasted our food, asking if everything was okay. When I realized my fries were missing and I wanted to try a different sauce (the cilantro aioli was very bland), she was nowhere to be found. My husband eventually had to go find her outside, where she was also working—but even then, she did not return promptly or follow up. It was actually the hostess who ended up bringing us the truffle aioli, which also turned out to be a disappointment—it tasted more like plain mayo than anything with truffle. When Maria did finally come back, she approached a completely different table to take their order before even checking on us. Only after that did she ask if we had received help. What made the experience even harder is that my mother recently passed away, and my husband and I were trying to find some joy in the day. The inattentive service really left a bad taste in our mouths—both figuratively and literally. We likely won’t be returning. It’s disappointing, especially since we debated going to South City Kitchen, where we've consistently had amazing service and great food. In hindsight, that’s where we...
